About Me

My name is Charlie Wood I was born in 1993 in the UK. I have a degree in film making and have pretty much been on the road ever since I graduated. I have travelled a lot, worked overseas as a videographer in California, France and Australia. Music has a huge impact on my life, I play the guitar, go to many festivals and am hugely influenced by all sort of music. I have always been very athletic playing football, rugby and cricket at high school, nowadays I like to snowboard, surf and skate (when my rotator cuffs allow me to do so). I guess my life ambitions are to travel as much I can, opening my mind by meeting new people and indulging in new experiences. Learning, shooting video and having fun :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well...I'm a traveler, we always appreciate somewhere to stay, especially when we have hitchhiked for 10 hours and all the hostels are full (Coffs Harbor). When I happen to have a place of my own I'd like to know about people in the area who need somewhere to stay so I can help them out - in the same ways many people over the years have helped me out. couch surfing is a great way to make friends, explore and make life a little easier when the travelling gets tough

Music, Movies, and Books

Asking what someone's favorite music is, is always a challenge, especially when there is so much amazing music out there. My response is that I genuinely like music from most genres, it just depends what mood I am in. I like old school Rock n Roll to Reggae, funk, electronic, acoustic, I like to snowboard listening to classical sometimes :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to a music festival called Outlook in Croatia, I had just finished my first year at Uni studying to become a film maker and my friends gave me a little flip camera to have some fun with whilst at the festival. Long story short I managed to get myself a press pass from the media office allowing to behind stage and on stage, I was on stage with disclosure at one point which was quite amazing, I made an Outlook Festival After Movie which has about 20,000 views on youtube, I was quite baffled by the whole experience, I learnt that life is all about creating your own opportunities.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always. I am trying to get more into reading books, and am become more in touch with spirituality which I often share with people. I have just hitchhiked from Byron bay to Sydney and learnt so much from the people that gave me rides. Everyone you meet has something to teach you, the more you travel the more you can learn and consequently share with others

What I Can Share with Hosts
