Overview
About Me
Back on here after a long hiatus - moved back to Australia after 12 years living in Brussels, Belgium, a big change in direction from photography to music, not to mention becoming a father! My old profile follows:
CURRENT MISSION
To be happy
ABOUT ME
I'm a busy boy! Lots of things interest me, I like learning, I like feeling alive, I love making music, I love being on the same wavelength as others.
PHILOSOPHY
everything is connected, there is always a balance
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
An exchange student for a year when I was 17, I've had many opportunities to experience just how wonderful it is to meet and share with other people. By myself in my own corner life is so much less interesting. I love sharing, I love the energy that comes with a compelling conversation.
Interests
Once again I like to keep the trace of 20 yo me below. These days I am still absolutely interested in music, but I am also interested in many other things too. I enjoy reed making, and darkroom photography. I love reading books - always have. I am also a bit of a gadget tragic. With the years I have discovered that I enjoy being in the garden, seeing things live and grow. Meditation is also progressively becoming a part of my life. Ideas excite me, along with psychological insights.
20 year old me:
Music- classical @ jazz, I play viola in a youth orchestra- (next concert beloeil early august) otherwise I'm on the violin. Photography is my other passion. Eyes and ears baby ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books
Ok, 20 yo me really shows here below. Right now I am reading a book I picked by chance from the library - 'The book of Joy'- discussions between the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu. Before that I really enjoyed reading an english translation of the count of Monte Cristo. In TV I have just finished watching Orange is the new black, don't watch a lot of tv. The last movie that I saw? That Wes Anderson film with the dogs, it was great - always enjoy his films!
- try checking out my myspace (name chazzawozza) but I like a lot of movies and books - I loved Taxi driver. The science of sleep was nice.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rode a lie-down bike with a friend of mine from Berlin to Istanbul. We shared a tent, and I ended up running out of money before we even started. I am proud to say that we are still friends! Thankyou Stephen!
Teach, Learn, Share
I think that it was Joseph Beuys who said something along the lines of "Every Man is an artist, and the artist, by definition is a teacher", something like that... I do teach oboe to a handful of students, but I think that we teach in everything we do- we transmit our stories and experiences. Everything that we do comes from generation upon generation of the lives which have preceded and surrounded us, we are on the shoulders of giants.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can only imagine the answer to this question - when I meet new people I am often surprised by what they bring out of me, what they are interested in - it's a big learning, and I love it. I hope I can share my enthusiasm with them. I hope I can share a smile and a laugh, something real.
