About Me
Hello everyone!
I'm Charlotte...a Cornish beach wanderer-cum-London dweller. At the moment, my work doesn't require a fixed location, so I'm travelling around a bit, enjoying the summer!
I work as a freelance barista at festivals, a writer for a news site, an events manager for a social enterprise and I do some marketing work for a new magazine based in London.
I would love to meet some new people this summer, and hopefully share some fun experiences together!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Though I've been signed up to Couchsurfing for a long while now, my experiences have been less officially orchestrated-spontaneous meetings leading into three week stays together! That sort of thing.
But I'd like to participate more, both in hosting and surfing. I love the idea of offering up my home to new people, sharing food, stories, ideas and showing them the most interesting places. I think getting to know new people is probably the best thing about travelling, i've made some great friends along the way and I'd like to make more!
Interests
Being outside! I love cycling, surfing, hiking...I am planning some cycle tours for later this year and i try to be in the water as much as i possibly can!
Moving indoors I enjoy cooking, reading, films, politics, good conversation and great coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books
All really varied but some of my favourite authors are Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Margaret Atwood, Gabriel García Márquez, Somerset Maugham
Movies wise i love anything with a thoughtful story, surreal twists..Amoldovar, Hertzfeldt
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I embarked on a 6 day solo motorbike trip around the national parks and trails of Northern Thailand...it was an adventure which had me supping whisky with locals on a roadside as we all sheltered from a huge storm, lodging overnight in garden huts, getting lost in vast places and not seeing another individual for an entire day's riding
What I Can Share with Hosts
Great veggie recipes and food, coffee! ( i often work for coffee roasters and shops and usually have a bag or 2 lurking about), travel stories. As a writer/marketing person i could help with any written work or chat through fundraising experience
