CURRENT MISSION
To travel slowly, and look around.
ABOUT ME
I really like being an economics major, and I spend a lot of time outside. That's the two sentence summary, anyway. It's hard to talk a lot about yourself, so I'll refer to a nice quote:
"Dollar meals if I can find them; five dollar hotels, if they still exist. No guided tours, no visits to historical monuments, or old churches. No taxis, no mixed drinks in fancy bars. No hanging around places where English might be spoken." Moritz Thomsen
Rather than the tourist spots, the tokens of local pride, the comfortable and clean hotels, I'll take life as it really is. Who goes to work? Who's having a regular day? Tell me something that isn't interesting. A problem with generalization in tourism is that it pretends the only interesting thing about a city is how strange the foreign cuisine is, or how odd their clothes are. Hype is bad for movies and cities. The natural effect is that you are let down, you rest, and then you feel like life is still with you, like you could not leave it at home as you planned. In fact, you realize you feel pretty much the same. So, I look for normal things wherever I go, and I take my own world with me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Wilco is an all time great band for me; also Shakey Graves and Dr. Dog. My favorite movie is Joe Vs. the Volcano. I really liked the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took a road trip from Pa to New Orleans and back with my friend, and the trip blew me away. We didn't plan very much, took it a day at a time - I think the trip was better because of it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to navigate without a compass if you want, and I would love to learn how to fish!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm an authentic, suburban Pennsylvanian. I can cook and clean, talk about the economy, play music with you, and offer my favorite books and movies.
