Resumen
Sobre mí
Like many on couchsurfing I am addicted to the nomadic lifestyle. I left my home city of Birmingham England at 18 to work overseas and have rarely been back in the last 12 years. I float from country to country working, studying and travelling where ever I feel most drawn to. Along the way I found myself a travelling companion and after 4 years together, chasing the snow in Winter and working and travelling in Summer, we got married. He is Danish and loves this lifestyle as much as I do.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing because both me and my husband love to travel, exploring and learning as we go. We love to meet new people and what better way to combine the two. Sometimes really 'feeling' a place can only happen if you live and work somewhere for a time, or connect with a local who is willing to share the hidden gems of their home town. We strive to get more from our travels than just a fleeting glimpse of a national treasure or world wonder, although we like this too. Learning about local culture, traditions, a few handy phrases, and making new friends is by far the most rewarding experience of travel.
Intereses
Travel and learning about other cultures and traditions.
After working 7 seasons at ski resorts I love to snowboard.

Música, películas y libros
Hmmm favorite music I like many styles and genres especially when its live. Nothing beats good live music.
Similarly with movies I love a good horror every now and then as much as a cheesy rom com. Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, and Lock Stock are among my top ten.
Algo increíble que he hecho
When travelling in India a few years ago I woke up in a dirty room with this overwhelming desire to change our travel plans for the day. After convincing my husband that we absolutely MUST take the bus to Dharamasala we did exactly that. Finding accommodation at the very limit of our already overstretched budget we decided to find something cheaper after checking out the temple at McCleod Ganj for the morning Buddhist talk. Arriving slightly late, but hoping to slip in without disturbing anyone, we were surprised by the level of security required for entry. Once inside who is speaking to the temple packed with people listening to translations in various languages on hand held radios? HRH the Dali Lama! We were lucky enough to hear him speak 2 full lectures and he passed by us barley 5 feet away. A truly lucky and rewarding 'accident'. Also jumping out of a perfectly good plane was pretty amazing :)
Enseña, aprende, comparte
Yes this. This is what the couchsurfing experience is really all about right? We are not looking for babysitters but anything we can teach, learn, share with our hosts is a truly valuable experience.
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
Hmmm interesting question. I can share my language skills, my life and travel experience. Also in the future we hope to welcome people into our home as we have been welcomed into others homes.
