About Me

I guess it is pointless to say that I love travelling, otherwise I simply wouldn't be here. Besides, I am live music addict and a (comic)bookworm, try to listen & read as much as I can but I constantly lose the battle because of the lack of time.
The Greatest (in both meaning) part of my life is filled with my family. I have fantastic (usually hahaha) wife, daughter (5yo), son (2yo) and a dog.
Another important thing of my life is all stuff associated with vegan/vegetarian lifestyle.
I love playing board and card games and watching movies. I like to cook & eat. I also enjoy riding a bike, even in winter, hanging out with friends. I am interested in all types of street art, particularly street theatre and graffiti.
My hobby is collecting board and card gamesfrom places I visit.
And sometimes my favorite activity paradoxically is... just doing nothing.

I would consider myself as an easygoing and unpretentious person. I feel fine in various fields and activities, so we can go to a gig, pub or wherever we all like or have a chat, play and be lazy.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Question everything. Less is more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I've participated to CS, I love it! I was quite familiar with this project long time ago, but don't know why, it took me ages to join.
I participate in both, hosting & surfing, cause simply both are fun. This is my best way to meet some new, interesting people (yeah, people who use CS definitely are - so far) and to visit some places/let somebody visit my place.

I hosted friends, bands and others in Poznan, surfed a bit in Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Various kinds of music, depends on the mood and something i call "actual music obsession/phase" :). I grew up on hardcore/punk and metal. Still love those. But in years my music taste evolved, I opened my mind to a lot: post-rock, post-metal, sludge, noise, idm, minimal, electronic, contemporary classical. I love especially when artists mix some of those genres to create own style.

Comics & books: Love original, mocking & ironic humor as well as true and unusual stories about usual people. Like mystery and macabre short stories, essyes about social issues and activist's books. Favorites: Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Ed Brubaker, Jeff Lemire, Rick Remender, Jason Aaron, Brian K. Vaughan, Cullen Bunn, Chuck Palahniuk, KaeReL, Jonathan Safran Foer, Przemysław Wechterowicz, Edgar Allan Poe, Mariusz Szczygieł, Par Lagerkvist, Jerzy Kosiński.

Movies: Like true stories, doesn't really matter if it is mainstream or independent. Love serious issues in crooked looking-glass. Adore good drama, thriller, sci-fi & horror stuff - best if it is mix of those genres. Like short films, documentaries, old horror movies, german expressionism, some trash & crap movies.
Favorite creators & groups: Denis Villeneuve, Edgar Wright, Taylor Sheridan, Jeremy Saulnier, David Fincher, Robert Wiene, Marcel Łoziński, , Piotr Bosacki, Adam Elliot, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Paul Wegener, Maklakiewicz & Himilsbach, Monty Python, ZF Skurcz, Gobelins...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a kid, I tried not to sleep as long as I could. My record is 10 days in a row. After that I got pneumonia and slept for 24 hours. I am still impressed.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - Polish (and regional) strange-sounding words like kapcie, świgać or tapczan, vegan cooking (e.g. kick-ass potato-leek casserole). How to play "Escape From Prison" on acoustic guitar (if you bring one), teach & play some board/card games, names of all-time-supporting actors that nobody else remembers... only necessary things.

Learn - open to almost everything as learning is the most important part of my life. Not in academical meaning only, of course. Every experience can by useful and educative.

Share - some stories of my life, ideas & opinions, good humor, passions to music, comics, cooking and other.
