Overview
About Me
I moved to Heidelberg in 2018 to start my Masters degree. Since then I've learnt German , started a student research assistant job in mathematical oncology, and gotten more involved in the climate justice movement.
For the four years before that I was mostly living in Manchester, UK. I did an undergrad degree in Maths (with Spanish), worked as a tutor in primary and secondary schools, and spent many, many happy hours in Taekwon-Do classes.
I spent my Erasmus year in Madrid, studying very little Maths, running an English-speaking playgroup for 2-4 year olds and taking as many photographs as I could.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's been a dream of mine to host people through Couchsurfing for a couple of years, and now I finally live in a flat where that's possible! Right now I don't have the money to travel, so Couchsurfing is a way for me to experience culture, language, story and recipe exchanges without spending money or carbon emissions 🤗
I'd love to "travel" though Latin America sustainably by hosting someone from cada país, and actually travel from Norway to Spain through couchsurfing one day.
Interests
Film and digital photography. I used to develop my own B+W film, but it's been a while.
ITF Taekwondo. I'm currently a red belt, and met some of the most important people in my life through training in Manchester.
Vegetarianism/veganism. I switched to veganism in January 2018 (with the rest of my flat!) and I love how it's increased the variety of foods I cook with.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm learning German, and I'm always happy to find Spanish conversation partners :-)
I love making food to share (especially cake), and I'd love to learn new vegan recipes. I've taught Maths to 14-17 year olds and English to 1-4 year olds, but I'm not sure if that's so helpful for Couchsurfing...!
