About Me

No matter where I am, I have the ability to cultivate my own unique, inclusive, convivial atmosphere.

I have spent most of my adult life curating my ideal relationship with the world, figuring out who I needed to be in order to feel like an engaged citizen of it. I lead with my heart and try to leave my ego behind~~~

Lately I've had the freedom to work introspectively, to better coordinate my efforts in making the best of each day and having enough left over for others to share the wealth!

I'm a big student of political processes, especially Democratic Socialism, and I've realized that the level of engagement someone has to the greater world is a major indicator of their humanity.

In other words, I'm the most optimistic stoic you'll ever hope to meet ;) I'm SO looking forward to continuing my pursuit of meaningful connections with diverse people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently touring SEA with my boyfriend, Matt, playing as many ultimate frisbee tournaments in as many countries as we can manage! Chiang Mai is our home away from home during the cold winter months in Northeastern US. Every time we visit this region, we confront more situations which help us to grow into more considerate people ll be living (in the fullest sense of the word) on/from a stunning dual-yurt property with a like-minded couple.

I coordinate international travel arrangements for an NGO in the field of international development. My company RULES and is very willing to accommodate my need for personal travel. Yay for not being afraid to ask for what you want!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Plenty of sci-fi, fantasy and distopia sprinkled with several important works on sociology and anthropology, along with heavy helpings of feminist memoires and homesteading handbooks. Currently reading I Don't Want to Talk About It, More Than Two, and How to Be and Adult in Relationships almost simultaneously. I ve been heavily influenced by Thai cuisine, having lived in the Kingdom & worked at an authentic restaurant, and can stir up a tasty Tom Kha Gai 🍲

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Besides traveling the US and SEA and making the most of it, I'd say hands-down, guiding my Thai friend through her first snow storm! After dark, I dressed her head-to-toe in winter gear, and marched her to the courtyard of the city arts center to build a massive snowman--with the help of the town mayor, who happened to by walking his dog in the flurry. We gave our sculpture a traffic code for a hat, took some silly pictures, and proceeded to sled down a nearby hill with a couple of Rubbermaid tub lids.

There is something amazing around every corner, on any given day.
