About Me

I'm a writer and editor originally from Sydney, Australia, but currently living in Banff, Canada. I love throwing myself into new things (I tend not to do things half-heartedly), and I'm interested in discovering new places, trying new things, and meeting new people. I love books, markets, vintage stores, travel, and I really love having coffee or wine with great company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people and experience new cultures. I'm a good listener, and I think talking to others and exchanging information is the best way to learn.

While I can't offer a couch for others (I don't have one...), I'm happy to meet up with people wherever I happen to be.

Interests

Arts, books, food, film, music, travel, wine, beer, coffee. I have a big record collection full of all kinds of music from the '50s to the '90s.

Music, Movies, and Books

A Little Life, anything by Isaac Asimov, Harry Potter, the Hannibal series, Beyond The Beautiful Forevers, I think Stephan King is an excellent writer, and I loved The Rosie Project - the first book, the second one isn't nearly as good.

The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Etta James, Primal Scream, Childish Gambino, Sublime, Bob Dylan, Queens of the Stone Age, Fleetwood Mac, Al Green, Nancy Sinatra, and I'm sure there's more I can't remember right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacking through India, Nepal, Cambodia and Vietnam for four months was pretty amazing, but travelling the whole of Iceland totally alone for four weeks is probably the winner...that was incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

The only real teachable skill I have is juggling with three balls, and I'm happy to pass that knowledge on :P

I like cooking, and I'm not bad at it so I'm more than happy to cook and share food.

I'd love to learn about where you're from and your culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you some English (if you're learning) and about Australia, cook and bring wine. I've had a few experiences travelling and I'm always willing to share information with others.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, England, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, India, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Nepal, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
