About Me
Hi there, nice to meet you! I'm an 18 year old student in The Hague at an international university. I am studying international development, world politics and gender studies. Since I am not sure what to write here, I will just provide you with some random information. My favorite color is probably gold, I am trying to play the guitar and miserably failing at it, and ice cream might very well be my favorite food on the planet. I am always interested in learning and getting to know new people, with different cultures and interests. Hope you will be one of those new people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The international university made me even more enthusiastic to explore different countries and cultures. I believe that traveling is so much nicer if you have people around who can help you out with tips. How will a tourist find out what the best place to eat is and where you should definitely party? On top of that, the student budget doesn't really allow for 5-star hotels ;) I think this is a great way of enabling people to explore the world. Giving, taking and mainly sharing in a wonderful community I hope I can be fully part of.
Interests
Films, museums, politics, partying, music, eating. Definitely eating.
I also love dancing, poetry, literature, concerts, hanging out with friends, watching films, walking through nature. However, my main interest is learning new things and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Queen and Nirvana, but I can also greatly appreciate Jazz and classical music. I have to admit that I have a big weakness for '80s and '90s pop.
When it comes to movies, I truly enjoy the Pixar/Disney ones. I think Borgman is the best Dutch movie to have ever been created. I loved watching Submarine. My taste varies. I love filmhouse movies, but also James Bond, the feel good comedies, dark films. My favorite series of the moment has to be Hannibal, with House of Cards as a very close second.
I haven't been reading as much as I used to. The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir is one of my favorite books at the moment. I very much enjoyed The Rosie Project, as a slightly lighter read. Vaslav by Arthur Japin was great, although I am not sure whether it has been translated into other languages than Dutch. Recommendations are always welcome :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got into the university of my dreams. That's pretty amazing I would say!
I spent a night in the dessert, which was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately we brought the Dutch weather with us, and it rained for most of the night during the Moroccan summer. I promise you that we will leave the Dutch weather in the Netherlands if I visit you.
I have seen the northern lights (aurora borealis) in Finland, which was beautiful.
Teach, Learn, Share
Keep an open mind, open eyes and an open heart.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My boyfriend's great cooking skills is something I can share. I can also teach you some of the ugliest words in the Dutch language, or a bit more than that if you're particularly interested. I can also bring stroopwafels or drop!
