27-year old student from Amsterdam, but at the moment traveling around the world for about a year together with my boyfriend! We spent 7,5 months living and working in Australia, after that we flew to Nepal and travelled through China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan and Uzbekistan. When I'm at home, I study and work as a freelance writer. I see myself as open minded, curious, optimistic and I'm always in for meeting new people :)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm pretty new at this. I joined couchsurfing a long time ago, because I loved the idea behind it and it sounded so much fun. Unfortunately I never had the chance to host couchsurfers myself, since I lived in a small student house for a while and after that I moved to a small studio. Even though I have been traveling for five months now, till now I always stayed in hostels or at people I already knew from home. I'm not fed up with the hostel culture yet, but my experience so far is that it is always nicer to stay with people who actually know a place well, in stead of staying there with other tourists. And it is, of course, a great way to meet people who are from the place you are visiting at that moment. So I guess that's the main reason I decided to finally start using my Couchsurfing account :-)

Music: Some of the favorites are Bonobo, Bon Iver, Fink, Rodriguez, James Blake, John Mayer, The National, Nick Drake, Patrick Watson, Sia, Regina Spektor, Lana del Rey and Eddie Vedder.

Movies: The Tree of Life, Pulp Fiction, Black Swan, the Prestige, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Biutiful, Intouchables, Fight Club, Slumdog Millionaire. I love series, especially Twin Peaks, House of Cards, the Wire and Six Feet Under (but also Friends, HIMYM, SatC and Greys Anatomy).

Books: too much to mention, reading is one of my favourite things. I especially love to read literature and travel books. Favourite authors: Murakami, Mulisch, Hermans, Dostojevski, Irving.

Algo increíble que he hecho

My two long trips: three years ago I travelled around the world on my own in ten months. Some of the highlights were the Transmongolian Express, roadtripping through the Gobi desert in Mongolia, hiking volcanoes in Indonesia and traveling China by train.

And now this trip: one year together with my boyfriend which is amazing again!
