Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy using this website for what it was designed for - to stay for free in other people's homes and to welcome guests into my home.

Couchsurfing is marvellous. It's got all kinds of people, which means that it's possible to meet really amazing, kind, generous friends, hosts and guests, maybe even who share my interests and worldviews. It also means that it's possible to meet people who are not like this, which is fine, though I have had some weird experiences with this site. There are already thousands of dating websites so we don't need to use couchsurfing as one, please don't contact me if you are trying to use couchsurfing for dating or sex.
And it's very strange when people who I got in contact with through couchsurfing but never actually met leave me a reference saying that I stayed with them. But whatever, you have to have darkness to enjoy light :)

I am MORE LIKELY to respond to LAST MINUTE couch requests - for tonight or tomorrow. Give it a try, you never know ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting - Leeds 2010-11 - all positive
-Brighton 2014 - very chaotic as I was living with 9 other people, all musicians and artists with odd habits, in a 4-bedroom house! So my respect to all the lovely surfers who managed to find some peace while staying with me then!
- Puglia 2016 - My husband and I hosted 2 surfers in our apartment in a tiny town in Salento, which was very positive.

Couchsurfing is a fantastic website for creating links and there are many other ways in which I have been treated to the hospitality of others.

From hitch-hiking off a ferry in the middle of the night where the driver insisted on driving us home to her house to sleep, to being put up for free in a Turkish hotel by its owner, who also gave us breakfast and a tour of his city, and staying in the many weird and wonderful communities, camps and festivals where the weary traveller can find food, singing companions and a corner to curl up in... Plenty more, the tribe is everywhere and I love it.

I enjoy surfing and hosting equally; hosting is such a good way to feel fulfilled...

BEST OF ALL I love when people are spontaneous enough to accept my often very short notice couch requests!
***Most of the time I try to plan well in advance but sometimes spontaneity takes over and it's great when hosts are flexible enough to accommodate this :)

Interesses

Music, which has shaped my life massively ( as I'm sure it has for lots of people, whether they know it or not..)
I am very interested in creation of peaceful societies; peace in the positive sense.
