About Me
(Update 2020/02/25)
I have decided not to host travellers for the time being due to the corona virus.
As a biomedical researcher currently living in Japan, I have been kept on the most relevant updates about the spread of the virus so here's the deal:
- You are going to be fine, even if you carry the virus, being a young person lucky to have a functioning immune system
- Others might not be as lucky
- Japan is a very very densely populated country with many fragile people (elderly, immuno-compromised people, children)
- Although it is irresponsible to come to Japan now and I would strongly advise you to reconsider coming (especially if you are a global traveler) I understand that you might have planned this since a while and you're excited to come
- Therefore, try not to put others in danger : wear a proper surgical mask all the time, and wash your hands often
Have fun,
Charlotte

Vegetarian, open (everybody welcome ! 🌈), overworked PhD student.
I'm a metalhead but I'd love to hear about what kind of music you like.
What I offer is a safe, free place to stay the night to make Kyoto a bit more accessible. My specialty is knowing where the vegetarian restaurants are hidden. What I don't offer is being a tour guide, because I really don't have time (though I might hang out a little ;D).
Let me insist, there has been some misunderstandings: I AM BUSY BUT I AM VERY HAPPY TO HOST YOU FOR THE NIGHT.
I'll be more likely to host you if you
- Come for job interviews/conferences/professional reasons
- Are mindful of my busy schedule (I'm a PhD student, and I have a social life, part time jobs and hobbies)
- Tell me a bit about you and who you are
- Bribe me with food
- Tell me you've read my hosting conditions ("My Home") and are okay with them
Also: c'mon guys, if you wanna have breakfast at my place it's very okay but please bring groceries, I'm just a student on a scholarship!
