About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn as much as I can in as many ways as I can and to continue expanding my borders

ABOUT ME

I live a healthy life, but I do not neglect to enjoy life either. Food, family, friends, games and sports are all important to me. Therefore I am very happy that we live in this digital age where we can keep in contact with people we love, even if they are far away. I enjoy learning about our society and the environment we live in, and care deeply about sustainable development as well as cats.
I would really like to be the kind of person who is kind, intelligent and generous and is able to make the world a better place. I am a somewhat serious person, but I like to think I can have a meaningful/fun conversation with you if we have some kind of shared interest. Being serious sometimes does not mean that I don't enjoy to play games. Something we should never forget.

PHILOSOPHY

It is everyone's duty to continually expand our borders. To look beyond what you already know and to be interested in other people. We live all together on a comparatively small place called earth and we all have to try to make sure that everyone fits on it without destroying it. If we can try to live up to that standard, than life is a wonderful experience and you will be amazed by all of the wonders in it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been involved in the Suwon group and participated in their meetings. Now it is time to get back into the Dutch scene. I enjoy hosting people or just showing people the beautiful places we live in. Of course, I also enjoy traveling and staying with people in their own hometown.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted and surfed with couchsurfing for some time now and is has been amazing. Its totally worth it and I am glad I heard about it. Every person is different and so is every couch, but they are all wonderful and adding something new to your life.

Interests

Horse riding, fitness, traveling, reading, gaming, meeting people, wandering around cities, bungee jumping and everything with a thrill, animals ( especially my own cat), British detective series, music, art, human geography, world politics, development, human rights. You name it :) Problem is that there is simply not enough time for everything!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of fantasy but Terry Pratchett is my favourite writer. Stories that touch you because they offer you some insights, stories that touch you inside, stories that you can learn from. And, well, I will admit to also enjoy a story that brings me to another world, which is why I really enjoy fantasy in the first place.

As for music... hmmm.. that is hard to describe. I generally enjoy rock, indie, metal and some random music from different genres. Don't ask me about movie names, let's just watch one and enjoy it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think that would be traveling through Pakistan in the west part of the country. Taliban or not, the people there are amazing and so is the landscape, with all the heat.
On the other hand there is Nepal and it has been the most beautiful country ever. I think bungeejumping there has been a totally different but equally wonderful thing.
After doing research in Vietnam I have also left a little bit of my heart back there...
There have been many many amazing things both at home and abroad. The main ingredient in them has always been the seemingly endless generosity people possess and the beauty of nature and human made objects.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I have learned is that there are extremely generous people everywhere and that you should never be held back by warnings form others. See things yourself before judging!
