About Me

About our LatinAmerican trip starting on 23/09/2016:

We're a Belgian couple getting on the road to travel around Latin America: Charlotte (27), an anthropologist and Mohammad (34) a teacher. We both ended our contracts to start this exciting journey.

The main goal of our 1-2 years trip will be to get in touch with people from different cities&countries and listen to their stories so we can understand (and even support) their everyday social, cultural, political and environmental actions.

Oh, and we love laughing, cooking, tasting new dishes, drinks and fruits!

We would be glad to discover the cities we visit from your points of view. So host/join us and let's have long walks, funny moments and share our stories.

We'd be thankful if you could host us in your place. We're really easy-going and independent. We're really respectful of others space and privacy.

-------------------------------------

Charlotte: I'm easy-going, spontaneous, curious, open-minded and joyfull.
I'm hungry for the world, its people, cultures and nature.

Mohammad: I never check CSs profiles to decide if I accept their requests. Reading the message is enough: The way you greet, the words you use, how you write even if you're not using your mother tongue, etc etc. Most of the time, if I'm accepting someone after reading the message, I just check her/his photos to have an idea of the one I'm writing to. The 'About me' part starts when we actually meet. Doesn't it? ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Charlotte: Meeting local people when you travel is the best guaranty for true and unforgettable moments...
On the other side, hosting is a nice way to travel without moving. Making people have an easy and cheap stay is just being grateful for what you received yourself :-) Hosting is also an ancient and traditional value all over the world. Hospitality is great!

Mohammad: Because the best things are and must remain free! And let's share our funny or sad stories, dreams & fears, music & movies, food&drinks...

Interests

Charlotte: I love meeting new people, eating, dancing, having a drink in sunny places, chatting, listening to stories, reading novels, listening to live music, cocooning ...
:-)
I also love nature, animals, and many other things!
I dream of traveling. I went3 times to Iran (my boyfriend is from there) , I studied in Spain and in September I'm going to live to Latin America for an undetermined period.
I'm interested in making this world a little better.
I can provide Bach flowers remedies (natural elixirs to deal with emotions).

Mohammad: People and their stories, learning languages, politics, sports, cinema, photography, cooking, chilling with old & new friends, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Charlotte: Too long! The kind of question I need hours to answer...
I love world music (latin, mmh!) but for the moment I really enjoy First Aid Kit, which I discovered couchsurfing in Scotland ;-)

Mohammad:
- Jazz, soul, classical & popular Iranian/Greek, etc. Johnny C & Frank S.
- Most kinds of movies. Just one per day! Ricardo D & Al P.
- Not a reader. I like comics :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Charlotte: I crossed with Gael Garcia Bernal on the street and I spoke to him (with my poor spanish on that moment). The only "star" I had a photo of in my teenager bedroom...
To be serious, I saved the life of a baby fox who had been hit by a car.

Mohammad: Does surviving a war count?

Teach, Learn, Share

Charlotte: It depends on you! Good conversations for sure :-)

Mohammad: I try to learn something from every single person I meet. I sometimes review things I've learned from people. It makes me smile. I'm a good listener and I enjoy learning new languages. I can teach some words of the 8 languages I've learned.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Charlotte: As a traveller, I can give a hand with the house/flat (cleaning up, cooking, etc.).
I can share time with you in your city (that would be awesome)! I'm excited to discover!

Mohammad: We'll laugh together! I can always cook some food from different countries I've lived in.
