ABOUT ME

Hello lovely people,

During term time I am extremely busy- I do not have time to check my cs account all the time so I need about ten days notice, otherwise I just panic because I have essays due in for the day you want to come. If I have advance warning, I can get my work out of the way and take some time to get to know you! Just now I can only host after the 30th November (unless I've already accepted your request!).

I'm not really very good at elaborate self-desription, but I am ready to talk to anyone if you need to know more about me :)
Possibly a good sum up would be that my favourite expression is "worse things happen at sea!", which I think is very important to bear in mind when travelling... It's always better to laugh about something than get all tense about it.:)

I've just finished studying my first year of English at Cambridge, so I have the look of someone who's spent too much time indoors. It's rather horrible actually. Need to get back out into the world! I miss travelling a lot- thank god for Summer hols.

Ett mål att jag har i livet är att förbättra min Svenska. Jag bodde i Stockholm en stund, men jag hade bara sex månader att lära mig Svenska- nu att jag är tillbacka i England vill jag försätte med övning, och jag skulle vilja lära känner så många scandinaviska folk som möjligt. Jag är interesserad av att lära mer om Norge and Danmark- jag skulle säskilt vilja resa till Norge och träffa Norskar.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couch-surfed via this website a few times before and it was SO MUCH BETTER than travelling via youth hostel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A lot of the couch surfing I have done has been impromtu and without the website, but as I get older (cringe) I like to be a little more organsied. I want to start using the site more and planning ahead a bit!

Interests

I do a lot of theatre when I'm at uni, and when I'm back in my home county I take out my dog and walk about 6 miles a day- my ideal holiday would be taking my dog and making a long journey on foot- possibly accross Germany.

Music, Movies, and Books

As with any one who really loves reading and music, my tastes are eclectic and occasionally embarrassing (I listen to Disney almost daily. It is amazing for stress relief).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Greeting a man on Okhon Island who said 'Sprechen sie Deutch?' and then a fish fell out of his jacket.
When they cracked open the first barrel at Oktoberfest last year- a suprisingly beautiful moment.
Going out into the night in St. Petersburg alone and against all possible advice. Turned out to be an amazing night!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have worked with Shakespeare as a teacher, actor and director, both paid and unpaid. I have also learned a LOT about his life and work. I ran some Shakespeare sessions for advanced English learners in Stockholm and they were good fun- I know that people don't go on holiday/travelling to learn about old playwrights but just in case any body did, I thought I'd put it out there as a sort of 'skill'. More interestingly, I can herd up sheep with a dog- but this is a harder skill to demonstrate whilst couch surfing.
