I believe that I am who I am because I was born, raised, taught, formed , inspired and loved by other human beings. Without the people in my life, I would not be who I am today. People that come into my life are an inspiration - getting to know their stories and struggles, hearing about fears, failures, wishes, dreams, sharing my story, hearing theirs, becoming part of theirs, and making them part of mine.

I enjoy sharing - stories, food, laughter, music, thoughts, silence, peace.

I love to be out in nature, especially when I spent too much time reading books for my studies (my studies = questioning the world = another passion of mine). I help people if I can and I believe that there are other values in this world than just numbers and money - other ways that make this world turn.
I love sunshine on my face, or snowflakes melting on my skin. I am tired of "where are you from?", "what are your plans?" (I don't have any - apart from being happy and seeing the world), too many categories, too many explanations and too many single stories.
I like the unknown, still sometimes I get scared. But I believe you need to jump with your eyes closed from time to time.

I am happily married to the most amazing soul on this planet. Angus and I have been travelling ever since we met and we feel like we have more than just a couple of homes on this beautiful planet. Couchsurfing definitely did it's share!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It really makes the world smaller. And it somehow connects us with people that are like us in a way... I call it the "couch surfing culture" :) a lot of couchsurfers feel like friends within the first seconds and I really enjoy meeting that type of open, interested, travel-addicted, weird and sharing people so easily through couchsurfing.

Interests

music ('hand- & heartmade' music that connects people), campfires, guitar+singing, camping, being outside.

Watching the stars when there is no lights around.
Wandering through snow at night.

Good, deep talks and comfortable silence.

Exploring a city by bike.
Walking, walking, walking and loosing track of time, place and sorrows.

I also love it when there is a short moment of connection between strangers that blows away after a couple of seconds and leaves both people with a smile on their faces...

i love music with good/deep lyrics and am currently having a thing for harmonica music!

And a beat that suits my mood and carries me away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

being part of a sailing ship crew for 2 weeks - incredible experience that made my soul fly.

I closed my eyes and jumped... and "moved to a place / where everything is music / where the time goes slower / and my tightened thoughts can loosen / where my heart can heal / and my tears drop freely / where I spread out my wings/ and - fly, and sing." (...one of my songs about S.A.)

Hitch hiking through Mozambique or taking the buses..one of my most amazing memory was the whales jumping out of the sea on a totally lonely coast.

Seeing the dolphins jump while the sun sets on a wild coast in California... Wow.

Jamming on the street with a chinese guitarist without me speaking chinese or him speaking english - communication without words through music.

Travelling Texas and California in an RV.

Oh yeah! Travelling Europe in "Mobi", a Mercedes Benz 208d, and finally understanding what making music is about for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to play acoustic/western and classical guitar, I can teach you stuff or jam with you if you play music too. I also always love to learn new things on the guitar.

I can teach you a bit about Excel, about organic food, fair trade clothes and some label stuff. I would like to learn about website-design and programming and how to work with GIMP or photoshop. Generally I am interested in learning basically anything that I don't know about yet. If you have a passion for something, you'll probably get me inspired about it too.

Actually I think what we REALLY have to share is something that cannot be written down in words. Our spirits, and - if you ask us and have some time - the wonderful story of how we met and ended up writing a binational lovestory...
