Overview
About Me
I am very open to different types of people and ways of life. I like to experience as many different and new things as possible. I don't want a normal life. I like being challenged. I like using my brain. And I like surprising myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I get nothing from staying in normal accommodation. It's not why I am travelling. I am travelling to really engage with people around me. To really experience other people. And if I am in a place and I have the opportunity to experience it from a locals point of view, then all the better.
Interests
Photography, music, reading, food, learning, inhaling, exhaling, walking and talking, asking how something works, being shown how to do something, exploring, singing when no ones around, talking to strangers.

Music, Movies, and Books
The intro to The Fall (the movie, not the band) where it's all black and white and the score is just epic. That scene in Before or After Sunrise (I forget which one) where Ethan Hawke looks out the window of the taxi and Julie Delpy goes to reach for him after he tells her about his dream of her and he doesn't see it. Joel in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The scene in Penelope where Christina Ricci saves herself. Three Lions. The Skin I Live In. Lady Vengeance.
Documentaries. Dark Humour.
Things with blips, layers and collage. Guitar sweeping and tapping. Mad drummers. Multiple drummers. Don Caballero, Beyonce, Marnie Stern and Joanna Newsom are the staples. Reggae never goes a miss. Music that usually confuses people or makes them feel uncomfortable. Actually that goes for all results from creative endeavours: anything that makes people uncomfortable. Anything with a slide guitar that isn't country. Distortion, noise, experimental and volume.
It's taking me a long time to get through Andrew Marr's A History of The World, but I think it's because I bought a kindle and it's just not as nice to hold as a real book. Dorian Gray is the only book I've read twice straight after reading it the first time. Trying my best to read non fiction after years swimming in fiction. Typical favourites; everyones favourites also of course. Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. Paul Auster. All of his stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We were at the beach and I could see all the waves at the same time. We were in the park and I could see all the leaves of the trees at the same time. The trees were getting bigger and closer. Then we walked in this steamy jungle with a river and waterfall.
Talking to people in Portuguese and actually being understood.
Teach, Learn, Share
If I come and stay on your couch I will have the following items:
-a DSLR camera
-a ukelele
-juggling balls
-hula hoop
I am open to learning about any of these things, but really, I love learning anything new;
