À propos de moi

The world is shrinking, and in an age where everyone the world over can talk to each other it would be a missed opportunity if we didn't do so.

I love traveling and hearing people's stories, so I'd like to help enable someone to enjoy where I've grown up in the same way I'd hope they'd help me enjoy their home country.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I've been fortunate enough to be able to travel a bit and make friends all over the place and would like to continue to do so.

It seems like how bad Americans are at geography is a running joke among backpackers and other travelers, and I'd like to learn more about the people and places the world has to offer.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Anything and everything satirical, can't get enough Terry Pratchett.

For travel related books I really enjoy Bill Bryson. He has a warmth in his writing that makes the topics fun and interesting.

As far as movies, cheesy 70's/80's poorly dubbed kung fu is my main guilty pleasure.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

This looks like a weird humblebrag section, so I'll just keep it to three things:

1) Jumped out of a plane

2) Threw a 300 lb man with judo back before my office job.

3) Found the woman I would marry on a study abroad trip and brought her back.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Teach me: Anything you think is cool about your country/area. Do you have any weird local things that would fly under the radar in a boring group tour? Do you guys eat something that you think other cultures might find weird?

Ask me: Questions about my city, state or country from the perspective of someone who has lived here his whole life. Don't be afraid of asking something awkward, we're all adults here.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I'd like to talk with more people outside of my immediate area, so even that could be valuable.

I'm not afraid of hands-on work, I used to be on a drilling rig and can handle myself if it comes to that. I also have some rudimentary programming/computer maintenance knowledge.
