ABOUT ME
I'm a regular guy from a farm in a small town in Saskatchewan. Life was flat and full of work. Friends, family, and F'n around is how I navigated through to adulthood.
I now live in Calgary which is famous for being a city on a map. I travelled Europe in 2010/11 and decided to change careers. As a result; I have been in school for the past 3 years. I would love to tour South America in a few years, and I hope to get out to Iceland in the next year or so.
Travel seems to be my favourite pastime. It has been awhile since I've hosted, so I though that I'd update the profile and offer the couch again. I didn't change the pictures though... I look the same. Maybe a little fatter.
I guess the best way to really get to know me is to meet me. I consider myself funny, easygoing, and kind but I'm sure most people think that of themselves so I'll let you be the judge. I'm not a big fan of people who judge others though, so be quiet about it.
PHILOSOPHY
Examine yourself. Don't become pretentious and don't try to be famous.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
surfed, met, and now hosting. I tried to use this community as much as possible when I was travelling and although it didn't always work out I'm still a huge fan and am looking forward to giving back.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Positive... That's how this site works right?
All the people I've met through couch surfing have been tremendous. I once screwed up the 24 hour clock while hosting a Norwegian guy, and left him at the airport for a few extra hours before picking him up. I felt really bad. He was cool about out it though. Occasionally you get what you pay for.
Interests
Outside. Mountains. Oceans. Travel. SCUBA. camping. hiking.
I tend to pick hobbies up, and then let them consume my life for awhile. I was "cross-fitting" for a few years. I took up rock-climbing. I recently bought a fish tank off a friend, and now I'm a "Fishguy". Got into coffee, and started making good stuff at home. Now I can't drink Tim-Hortons. If you tell me about your hobbies I'll most likely say "oooohhh, I should try that"
Someone tried to explain the card game "Magic" to me once. I'm 100% sure I'll never ever play it. Ever.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music is nice. It is usually playing in the house. I don't define myself by a certain genre, and I don't "get" dubstep.
I read. I feel its a simple yes or no; its not the document- its the action.
And finally Movie- Also good. I love all movies, but I have to cover my ears if I'm watching modern horror movies in theatre. Movies keep getting scarier and scarier. I cover my ears to protect myself from the scary monsters.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sold my possesions, quit my job, bought a backpack, and left on a plane. I needed to do it, it was many years of thinking with no action.
