I am a Software Engineer, I graduated as something else but life made me a coder. I consider myself a very adjusting guy, I gel up with people of all sorts within minutes of meeting them, I am someone who is always ready for something new, if you would suggest something I would always be the first one to participate. I am funny, I have been told by many of my friends that I should do standup - it's just the way I tell my stories that I make even a boring thing interesting.

I am more of a mountain person, I have always loved hiking. I recently got hooked to snowboarding, this sport was hidden from me all my life and now I can't get enough of it. I like to socialize, I like to engage in interesting discussions, I believe I can talk to anyone from the age of 18 to 65 on any topic.

Overall, I am a nice and interesting person, good at heart, kind, polite and empathetic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always wanted to travel the world, I believe I am at that stage in life when I can start exploring the world. I am looking forward to meet people from around the world (as a host) to learn about their travelling experiences. I have never travelled solo and would like to have the couchsurfing community to help me ease with my travels. I do not hope for much but even if I manage to meet a few interesting people through this app it would be worth it.

Also, I live alone in downtown Victoria, which is walking distance to almost everything in the city and I would be more than happy to host guests for a few days if it makes their stay cheaper and closer to the main city hub.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like rock music - favourite band is Radiohead but I like Porcupine Tree as well, I love Pearl Jam but I wouldn't say no to Nirvana.

My favourite book of all time is 'Brave New World' and I often wonder how uncanny the resemblance is with the world described in the early 1930's to what's happening these days!

The list of movies is long - from The Lord of the Rings to The Matrix, enjoying everything by Tarantino (Inglorious Bastards - what a movie), and I love dark humour - recently watched a Norwegian movie The Trip (hilarious).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently went to the Everest Base Camp. I fell in love with Nepal, this country is out of this world. Being at 5500 mtrs elevation you could still see those huge massive mountains standing so tall in front of you as if you are at sea level! Just mesmerizing.

I can teach you all about blockchain, some basic financial information to make good investment decisions or about cricket.

I would love to learn about the culture of different places, by culture I mean the little nuances, those hand gestures that only locals can understand, those sarcasm in the jokes which is local to the people - things like that.

I am more than happy to share my couch, everything I know about the city and most definitely I can share a beer with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences, my culture, tell them in detail about my country, its people, its nuances (this goes for both India and Canada). I can also indulge with them in serious in depth intellectual discussions on variety of topics.

I can take care of their pets, I love dogs. I can make sure to give them the least trouble during my stays, keep my place clean, noise to minimal and respect their privacy.
