About Me

I'll be officially graduating from S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore at the end of July 2017. I pursued my master degree for about 10 months while working as a student research assistant as a requirement for my scholarship.

I participated in various Model United Nations competitions when I was in undergraduate school, such as USA, Singapore, and Japan. By joining these competitions, I got an opportunity to meet new people from different cultural backgrounds. It is always exciting to learn something new when I go to different countries. This is also one of the reasons I joined the committee of Indonesia International Week (IIW) in 2014. IIW is an annual event held by Indonesian Student Association for International Studies (ISAFIS), we welcome foreign students from overseas to have a short homestay in Indonesia. Along with the participants, we visited three different cities in Indonesia: Jakarta, Jogja, and Bali. We introduced Indonesian culture and nature to the participants. It was an unforgettable experience because I could also learn about the culture of the other participants.

I am also a huge fan of Japanese music. I have been to Japan three times to watch a concert or attend an event. I established a news site with my friends in Bahasa Indonesia which discusses various things about Japan, for instance, travel, culture, education, music, and movies. This site is called The Daily Japan (the-dailyjapan.com). I have interviewed Japanese musicians, such as Silent Siren.

I haven't done any hosting before but I'm looking forward to it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the end of 2015, I spent 2 months in Tokyo for an internship programme.
I initially planned to have a long holiday in Japan but I thought it will be extremely costly to me to spend the whole 2 months only wandering around Japan without doing anything meaningful.
Thus, I decided to send e-mails to numerous companies in Tokyo with my cv attached.
I received many rejections from the company because they did not have any openings for intern or they could not accept me because I do not speak Japanese fluently.
Yet, a non-governmental organization located in Setagaya, Tokyo replied to my email and they told me that they were happy to welcome me as their intern.

Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, United States
