About Me

I am the oldest of 4 children (final one left in Africa).

My specialization is in chemical free agritech systems (food, energy and water) and biofiltration including economic and data modeling, labour systems, data analysis.

I can teach the Cambridge O and A-level chemistry and cellular biology syllabi.

I don’t smoke and practice calisthenics and exercise daily.

Some of what i have done is on my instagram account as sustainableman though pictures only show results and none of the detail required to get there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The potential of my native country and its people moving forward is limitless. Unfortunately things here aren’t yet ready for my vision so in the interim i'd like to learn for a bit and be ready for later :). A bit of time living and learning and meeting really cool and unique people is an experience my soul yearns for :) I really want to meet old souls if that’s the right way to say it..

Interests

Recirculating Aquaculture, Biofiltration, Natural Farming, Progressive Calisthenics, Reading, Learning, Teaching, Living :)
I enjoy all sports though am not a competitive person and prefer focusing myself on the whim of the moment.

I have built 2 small scale organic farming systems (1/10ha and 1/3ha scales (2012-date)) with a modulated system designed to work on a commercial scale and be replicated infinitely, labour and financing permitted. Regional climactic variables must be taken into account. Any crop will grow :) there is still much to learn :)

The last 3 years of my life have been spent learning. My life dream is to teach though, when I will be ready for the task and what i will be teaching I do not know. Life experience needs to happen first. The education system needs a revamp and I will be part of the change.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: 90s and 2000s rock, lounge/house music.
Movies: watched enough in my lifetime to share an appreciation for all genres though if i were to pick a favorite i can't right now off the top of my head.. don't mind too much though.
Books: I've just finished up the entire disckworld series by terry pratchet. its taken me about 6 months or so. in the interim ive been reading some heavier stuff by deepak chopra, eckhart tolle, and a couple others as I delve into spirituality and try uderstand my journey. as a youngster i spent much of my spare time outdoors with my siblings, playing sports and reading anything i could get my hands on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked 150km full rucksack through a piece of south africa called the transkeii while studying for my degree. this is the homeland of the xhosa people. meeting and interacting with the people and experiencing the pure culture of the african rural homeland without the influence of the rest of the world awoke a hunger inside of me to meet the peoples of the world. what a beautiful expereince :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I have an in depth personal understanding of science, philosophy, economics, politics and life. all of which, when shared in a conversation, can raise the vibration of the people around me :)
Learn: life is one big lesson. I believe in experiences that can be turned into stories that can later be used to teach lessons :)
Share: experiences with beautiful souls.

What I Can Share with Hosts

This is something i must give some thought to. Um.. All I have is myself and my experiences and lessons. I can share some of my truth. I am deeply introspective with a unique perspective.
