ABOUT ME
The Cheefers are likely some of the most hospitable people you'll have the pleasure of couch crashing with. We strive to make our guests as comfortable as possible while we pick your brains. Conversation is essential, don't be weird in a bad way (creeper)! We love to talk, but more so, hear our guests wonderful stories and tales of adventure. While we don't do much traveling, we still fully support the idea of just getting out and being one with the world. Our house is generally open to all travelers, we do have a soft spot for cyclists. Just sayin'.
PHILOSOPHY
We live to LIVE not to exist. Got to embrace each breathe. To learn, to evolve. To experience Life. Keeping it amazing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
First, we offer a couch, futon, or an air mattress to our guests as well as conversation, damn good music, some local recommendations and love. We believe in the CS mission and have a passion to be as active in the CS community as possible.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far the experience has been wonderful. We've only surfed with a couple of hosts so the bulk of our experience is hosting others. I think we're pretty good at hosting. ;) We had some surfers that rode through on bikes dressed up as super heros. In this experience, we learned how to dumpster dive and then use our finds to create delicious meals. In the spring and summer months, you'll find us at the beach with our guests. Beach time is always a plus when we have landlocked surfers (couch) staying with us.
Interests
We love music and art, philosophy, science, and always, a good laugh. And the beach! Growing our own food and knowing where the rest of its coming from has piqued our interest in the past year as well. The Cheefers are a family of doers... we love getting people together for good causes.

Music, Movies, and Books
Baraka, Motorcycle Diaries, Avatar, anything Tarantino, can't think of them all. Got Netflix now and the list is expanding daily!
The music is universal. We enjoy EVERYTHING we listen to. Music is an extension of the Soul. However, we have a record player with lots of good records and yes we play the heck out of it.
Personal Favorites: A peaceful warrior, Siddhathra (wife is Herman Hesse fan, she loves russian and german authors from way back when).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sharon: I've seen a fish with perfect octagon shapes in Cancun. Life was never the same after that.
Josh: Seeing Saturn, up close, with my own telescope. It took me several weeks to track her down. I think there were tears involved. There is nothing quite like being one with the universe.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sharon: I am an avid learner. I love to be humbled by my existence, and what better way to do this than by meeting others who are branching out and seeing the world! I am coming around to fully embracing myself as an artist. I have undergone deep internal work, for I believe that our perception of the world, is dependant upon our awareness and we've got to be active participants in our existence. I am an artist with a vision. I love to share conversation and experiences about expanding conscioussness, making it hands on. If you want authentic mexican cooking, I've also got great recipes!
Josh: ^^ I love helping people and doing whatever I can to accomodate people in need. I love people who love conversation. Hopefully you've got a bicycle and we can ride until our feet fall off. I find myself rather busy with school and other obligations, but I will likely stay up past my bed time and hang out on week nights.
