About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel, stand still,soak in, enjoy.
ABOUT ME
40 years old with the ambition to never grow up. Easy going, seeking adventure, open to new experiences, independent, cultural omnivore, likes to watch the world go by.
PHILOSOPHY
You don't have time, you make time. (although it is sometimes also difficult for me to abide to this philosophy ;-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Please understand that I sometimes get over flooded with requests since Amsterdam is a popular place to stay. Also I combine couchsurfing with Airbnb and Home exchange so as you can imagine, I juggle quite a bit ;-)
So although I do not always have the time to respond, I try hard to answer anyone who tried their BEST to write something personal :). Sometimes I am just too busy and if I do have guests, at least I want to welcome them properly and make time for them and not go about like it is a hostel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Someone said to me once that if you are not able to travel, at least through Couch Surfing you are welcoming the world to your house! And I really like this thought! I also have been home exchanging for quite some years already, seen a lot of great people and great houses and enjoy the trust, hospitality and to actually feel at home in another place
Interests
Skiing, learning how to surf, hiking in nature, nature aesthetics, design, photography, art, (electronic) music, cooking, gardening, surfing the net, liking geekgadgets, technology, the cosmos, scouting vintage stuff especially old chairs, forgotten utensils, old family pictures, well basically old but beautifully designed shit ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books
Too much to mention, just ask me when around… I'm quite knowledgable and passionate when it concerns movies, music and books from jazz to techno and classical, from horror, art house and mind benders and everything in between. Always eager to exchange and learn.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Diving underneath a giant jellyfish colony in Koto Kinabalu (Borneo). Hitch hiking to Berlin, Meeting Norman Mailer and Sonny Rollins, A club-crawl NYE Tokyo, with the fastest Japanese driver I ever met (I still hear his maniacal giggling!), Catching a Jimjilbang addiction in Korea (sitting in 55c with a pink pyjama), Skiing in Hakuba, Japan watching mountains that seemed to have escaped from the old ink paintings. Watching the stars in the Morrocan mountains, hot tubbing in Breckenridge, amidst the sublimity of the Rocky Mountains. Cruising the Mekong Delta with a little boat,This incredible Nova Planet party in the Ban Lieu of Paris, dancing to mexican conquistadores music. Tasting delicious local food in some corners of the world (or at least being surprised by it ;-).
