Chef Damian Lewis was born and raised in “THE Ohio State”, a Mid-Westerner directly related to Merriwether Lewis and Colonel Sanders. It was only natural he become a World-traveling Chef. While pursuing a career in Civil Engineering he chose to apply for a spot in America’s most exclusive Culinary Apprenticeship program and was one of three chosen among a field of over 500 applicants. While apprenticing for a Certified Master Chef at Pinehurst Country Club and Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina he also completed a two-year degree in Hospitality Management providing proficiency both preparing and serving luxury gourmet fare.
After completing his training he followed The Lewis & Clark Trail to Kings Canyon National Park in The California Sierra Nevada mountains where he found his first Executive Chef position. Eventually settling in San Francisc, over the next 11 years he worked at both the fourth-ranked and seventh-ranked Mobil Five Star Hotels in the World. During this time he also worked at Two Michelin Star restaurant Amé before accepting the Executive Sous Chef position at Local Kitchen and Wine Merchant in the ritzy SOMA district of San Francisco. In 2015 he moved south to Los Angeles pivoting his career to become Floor Captain at Musso & Frank Grill in Hollywood, California where he portrayed himself (a waiter in the background) in the Quentin Tarantino film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’. Through nearly two decades at the top of his profession it seemed natural that the only way to continue advancing was to continue into a career in Yachting.

I freelance as a yacht chef and cannot keep an apartment here in Fort Lauderdale. I'm spending $7,000 a month just on hotels sometimes so I'd rather just meet some nice people and cook for them and make friends instead!
