About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel to world places that offer a tropical enviroment for Kite Boarding and a good social enviroment to meet people

ABOUT ME

Since retiring in 2001, I purchased a beach front 2 bedroom condo on Kite Beach in Cabarete, DR. There I learned to kite board and now have started tennis lessons to play when the wind is not blowing. I live alone with maid service for my condo and enjoy my life style in the DR very much. I now enjoy traveling to inexpensive countries to kite board during off wind times in the DR.

PHILOSOPHY

I live by the Golden Rule.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would only be interested in fellow kiters that would participate in kiting in a world class environment for kiters.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a Costa Rican firefighter in Costa Rica. He gave me and my son a room in his home in San Jose, CR. He was a good guide and excellent host. Later while in Bariloche, Argentina, I took a Spanish class in a private school and befriended the director who later invited me into his home for 2 weeks while taking the Spanish class. I was traveling alone and his friendship and those I met with him made my trip fabulous.

Music, Movies, and Books

All music except country western, now I hear a lot of reggaton in the DR. Enjoy reading most historical factual novels. Just finished the Feast of the Goat, Under the banner of Heaven,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since I am so old, I have had many expiences. Being a firefighter for 30 years has enabled me to save a few lives. During my traels, I tackled a purce snacher in Rome, entered a 500 year old Spanish working mine in Potosi, Bolivia, and just last month had lunch with a squad of Viet Nam soldiers that treated me as a friend where we sang and ate together with no mention of the war.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am still going to Spanish school. I am now taking lessons for tennis. I have skills in kite boarding. I also have good travel knowledge of most of South America and SE Asia

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Dominican Republic, United States
