About Me

Hey there, my name's Chelsea and I'm 22 from Brisbane, Australia. Currently in Sri Lanka with my sister after spending 3 weeks backpacking through one of the hardest countries I’ve been to, India 🦚

I traveled Europe, Asia and New Zealand in 2016 with my sister, then in 2018 I went back over to Europe with my bestfriend and we traveled for a bit then I went completely out of my comfort zone and went absolutely solo. This year, I travelled through the USA for 3 months in a converted bus with my sister and her best friend 🇺🇸 🚌

I absolutely LOVE couch surfing, it makes the whole experience of the country/city so unique and completely different to what a normal backpacker would see and do in a hostel.

I’m quite spontaneous and if I get the opportunity to do something new or go on an adventure I will almost certainly do it.

CURRENT MISSION: to be the person my dog already thinks I am 💘

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The difference between staying in a hostel and staying with an actual local is huge. I have couch surfed (with my sister) in the Netherlands, Austria, Italy and Germany and each time our experience was above and beyond what we could ever have experienced in a hostel.

Interests

Where to start... yoga, hiking, paddleboarding, meditating. I absolutely love getting out there and trying new things, especially if it's at the beach. Talking, laughing, sharing stories, card games, EATING but most of all traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Balloon ride in Cappadocia 🎈 (favourite country so far definitely TURKEY 🇹🇷)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to share what I have learned from my life to this point, and hope to gain knowledge from my hosts. I’m a pretty open minded person, so if there is something my host is interested in (and willing to teach me) I will definitely be up to giving it a go! From cooking local cuisine, to salsa dancing and even learning how to sail a boat, I’m up for the challenge.

(Also if you know how to surf or play ukelele.... those are the two things I’m desperately wanting to learn how to do, so any help would be perfect ! 👍🏻)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will teach you a bit about the Australian living, our slang and words are a lot different to the rest of the world ! When I eventually return to Australia I will be moving out of home and becoming a couch surfing host. So of course anyone who allows me to stay with them, will always be welcomed into my home in Brisbane :)
