About Me
Hi all! I'm 22 and about to graduate from Virginia Tech where I study biology with hopes of entering a career in diseases that effect animal behavior. That may sound complicated but I'm really down to earth and try to really chill out in my free time (because my busy time is so stressful). I just really want to have the opportunity to experience other cultures while not going bankrupt! Please help me! I'm super helpful and won't take advantage of the sacrifice you'll be making by taking me into your home! I understand that while doing this you have to trust a complete stranger with your belongings and household as I have to trust you with my safety and belongings. I take this very seriously and I hope whoever is willing to take me in fully understands this as well. I look forward to meeting you, whoever you may be :).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would really like to go to Europe once I graduate and to reduce costs and stay in my budget I would like to couch surf in Dublin and Madrid. I've never been to these countries and don't know the next time I'll be able to visit so I don't want to take them off my list of travels. Though if I can't couch surf, it seems that I might have to sacrifice the possibility :(
Interests
I enjoy seeing as much as I can of the world, because while I have seen a bit of the world, there is so much! I would also like to do this while I'm young and still have time and energy to do so.
My home life consists of going to class and studying mostly, at the moment. I don't go out to bars at night much, but at least 4 times a month just because of the college life. In my free time I go to my job on campus, take my dog on walks/to the dog park, and hang out with my friends. I also watch way more TV and movies than I'd like to admit, but I counter that with reading a lot as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to only like alternative music but now I like just about everything. I have some classical (instrumental piano and such), classic rock, alternative, modern pop, popular US 90's and early 2000's, some (but not much) rap. Basically, I dabble in everything.
I also like a lot of different movies. I seem to favor the dramas and classics, like Good Will Hunting, the Batman trilogy and such. Nowadays my movie tickets consist of Superhero movies and Animated Disney films. No shame. I think they're great :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think one of the best decisions I've ever made is adopting my dog, Mister. At first I thought I was just adopting this cute little, one-year-old, fluff ball. I already knew that his previous owner left him chained to a shed and he was attacked by dogs a couple of times resulting in a bit of his ear missing. However, once people started showing up at my house, like our friends at school, he would bark and growl and be extremely aggressive.
The best thing I did is I stuck with him. He obviously had some psychological trauma in his puppy years before I adopted him that made him distrust humans. I'm looking forward to spending the rest of his life building up that trust again. I've had him for a year and he's already made such great progress. I'm so proud of him and myself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm not above helping out in any way possible. I won't leave a mess and I have no problem helping to cook a meal or clean up after one. I also don't even mind if I have a couch or bed to sleep on. A roof over my head for the night is all I ask :) I know how to cook and I like to think I've led the common American life. Any questions you have I'd be glad to answer (I'm sure I'll have a lot for whoever I stay with too!).
