I am a very bubbly optimistic Portuguese-Canadian, and enjoy meeting new people, learning new languages, and trying new things! I love to travel, enjoy outdoor adventures from hiking to agricultural endeavors and am a foodie! At the same time, I enjoy peace and quiet, and like to learn about other cultures. In my spare time, I enjoy taking pictures and writing or blogging.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am still new to Couchsurfing, but it has been an excellent method to meet travel minded people, learn about the world and also experience other cultures at first hand.

Interests

I truly enjoy athletics, from running, to soccer ( football), yoga, and kick boxing . I am a lover of nature, and enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors as much as possible! As well, I love cooking, eating new foods trying new places to eat. I am passionate about travel photography, as well as creative and travel writing. . I usually spend my free time exploring and traveling, staying active, meeting new people, and practicing Spanish.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all sorts of music, from Latin, to classical, to pop, country and classic rock and roll. Don't forget Jazz!

When it comes to movies, romantic comedies are always a favourite, yet a thriller, drama or block buster are always great... I like to keep my options open!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Thus far, the 5 week solo back packing trip I did throughout Italy in 2013 has been my favorite travel experience. The copious amounts of people I met on this trip still remind me daily that traveling is not just about seeing a place, it is about connecting with people from all over, and learning about them and yourself.

Traveling for me is a way to connect to yourself, to other individuals and cultures, and a way to grow ! Life is our best teacher, and what better way to learn than with hands on experience!An open mind and willing to say yes and try new adventures has made the yearning to explore possible.
