About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Not lose at Settlers of Catlan.
ABOUT ME
Update: I'm about to move from Japan on August 4, back to America, so I won't be able to do any hosting at the moment.
I'm currently working as an English teacher as part of the JET Program in rural northern Japan. My job allows me a lot of free time, which I try to fill with travel whenever possible (even if it's just around Aomori).
PHILOSOPHY
I try to always see things from other people's point of view.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am eager to host and find people to travel with in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm still relatively new to this, but so far I've had great experiences hosting and couch surfing around Japan. I really love this organization and I'm hoping to host more before I leave!
Interests
I enjoy onsens, reading, good beer and mediocre wine, yoga, board games, and people watching/being around people in general. I really like learning about education/education policies, especially language education in the States vs. Japan. I live to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Amelie, Spirited Away, Before Sunset and Before Sunrise, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the list goes on. I'm usually a fan of anything with good dialogue/banter and mostly anything Judd Apatow puts out.
Books: I read a lot, but recently I've really enjoyed The World According to Garp, Memoirs of a Geisha, Never Let Me Go, and the Song of Ice and Fire series.
I enjoy many types of music, but I've been on a huge indie/folk rock kick lately (e.g. Fleet Foxes, The Decemberists, etc..). I'm also starting to get back into oldies.
Podcasts: (Listing because I've been a podcast junkie lately) Comedy Bang Bang!, Pop Culture Happy Hour, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me!, Totally Laime, Car Talk
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most recently: Sea kayaking in Milford Sound and visiting Hobbiton in New Zealand.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could probably teach a yoga posture or two and how to make delicious Italian meatballs.
I'd like to learn anything about life/language/education your corner of the world! Or if you could teach me some home brewing recipes, that'd be great too!
