ABOUT ME

The first city I ever fell in love with was Barcelona. It has a special place in my heart.

After recently graduating from grad school, I packed up and left the States for a long-awaited South American adventure. I wanted to inhabit an entirely different world, and I chose to begin my adventure in Quito, Ecuador, where I will be for the foreseeable future, supporting myself by teaching English. I bought a one-way ticket and have no idea how long I will be abroad! The best tools I brought with me are an open mind and an open heart.

My dream in Ecuador is to see the country deeply, especially its nature. Until this point I have had relatively little contact with the natural world, and I am eager to see the Amazon, the Coast, and more of the Sierras. I would love to meet up with any CSers who want the same thing!

PHILOSOPHY

trust in the universe, and all will be revealed to you.

also, don't take life too seriously all the time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Years ago I backpacked across Western Europe and did most of it by the goodness of fellow couchsurfers' hearts. I met CS hosts who became more like kindred spirits, and people through CS events who became more like lifelong friends. I am now living abroad and looking to meet up with fellow travelers for coffee/drinks, and the possibility of traveling together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Each and every couchsurfer I've stayed with has taught me something very valuable about life, whether it be something small like remembering to smile, or something huge like trusting in the goodness of humankind.

Couchsurfing has also taught me so much about community. I try and create a sense of community in so many areas of my work and personal life, and I think I learned to appreciate this approach to living through couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books that feed the mind and the soul. And books that keep you good company during a tough time!

I like movies that make you think, make you laugh, and make you cry. Not necessarily in that order.

And I like music that matches my mood. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Skill-sharing is such a huge part of building communities and I am always happy to join in skill-shares. I can teach yoga, English, Spanish, and skills for activism. I want to learn more about the outdoors, so anyone who can teach me to rock or mountain climb, or take me on hikes, is welcome to!
