About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Tokyo or bust!

ABOUT ME

I work on ships and I do a lot of yoga.

I love conversation, laughing, creativity, food, making food, making good food, I love colors, old dishes, wine, bikes, things that dont match, the color red, basketball, the ocean, the smell of the sea (I think it smells like soap, soap makers were dead-on with 'sea breeze' or 'ocean splash' scents), writing, creative writing, wine, anything vintage, mechanics, terry cloth bathrobes, british comedy, angry music, big band music, war history, live music, most music, singing, dancing, the mountains, hiking, climbing, surfing, swimming, water, travelling, meeting people, people-watching, thrift stores, shoes, dressing up, dressing like a slob, big smiles, zuchinni, yams, small cars, old movies - classics, comedies, first aid, lamps, dogs and cats, spontaneity, sunshine...

PHILOSOPHY

What goes around comes around.
Treat people how you want to be treated.
Be yourself and let others be themselves.
Step up to opportunity.
Be happy.
Honestly is the best policy.
Life is short.
Live free.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to offer my place and time to people traveling where I live. If I am not at sea, or not traveling I will at the very least meet up for a coffee or give advice about where I call home.

I love the idea of traveling to a new place and not just seeing the place but meeting the people who live there. Couchsurfing allows you be in a city as if you live there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving.

Once whilst canoing I saved a dog from drowning when he fell through the ice.

Getting a tour of Soviet Era Russian Coast Guard Ship.

The Eiffel Tower.

Carrying my $1 couch up the stairs to my third floor apartment with only the help of Tara - who is small like me.

Hiking to 5000m on Cotopaxi Volcano in Ecuador.

I have sailed on the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Arctic, the North Sea, and the Mediterrean Sea.

Hiking 75km in 5 days in Peru and seeing Machu Picchu.

Surfing in Costa Rica.

I think visiting any new place is amazing.
