Über mich
This psychic told me that my path in life is to break convention and that Frida Kahlo is my guardian angel. It only cost me $160 to find that out, but here I am telling you for free. I guess you could say I'm a generous rule-breaker.
Amateur mathematician preparing for the actuary exams, newly planted in Madrid.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
To begin, my husband and I met at a CS event. But I've also found many great friends through CS.
Interessen
Never have enough time to get through the list of things I enjoy, I consider myself lucky for that.
1. I love to cook and that's probably my biggest skill.
2. Learning languages (French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, German, Turkish)
3. Music - Recently on a punk kick, but I like all genres. Really love Leonard Cohen, David Byrne, Devendra, Bowie, Violent Femmes, Tom Waits, Destroyer
4. Film - Lately into film noir/ old crimes
5. Moving - running, bikram yoga, salsa,
6. And I have more patience than most for long discussions about politics and economics, the former in which I have a degree.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Big Leonard Cohen fan.. Also love David Byrne, Bowie, Destroyer, Nick Cave, old school Bjork like the Sugarcubes, Serge Gainsbourg (and thus Sebastien Tellier), Tom Waits, Devendra, Paul Simon, Brigitte Bardot, Radiohead, Miles Davis, Grimes, Goapele, Parliament, Allman Brothers and all other southern blues/rock associates.
La Traviata is my favorite opera because I love the line "Love is the pulse of the universe."
For movies, The Graduate is one of my favorites. I love French film - anything from Valeria Bruni Tedeschi. Old French noirs like Last Year at Marienbad, Jacques Tati, Louis de Funes..
And I prefer fiction.. LOVE P.G. Wodehouse, Kurt Vonnegut, Anything by Zadie Smith, Steinbeck, it's been awhile since I've read much since I spent the last eight years in university studying mathematics and economics.
And love philosophy - Nietzsche is my man but I'll settle for some ancient Greek and anything to do with philosophy of science.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I drove from Toulouse to Barcelona with one suitcase and decided I was home.

Latch key kid - means I've been cooking for myself for 20+ years so I can probably teach you something in the kitchen.
Or I can teach you some math and economics - two topics I've slaved over for some time now.
