About Me
Hey there!
I am from a small town in the east coast of Canada, but have been traveling the majority of the last four years. I lived for a year in Asia working in a bar and doing my Dive Master training, and two years ago I returned from backpacking Central America where I spent most of my time living in El Salvador. Last year I backpacked Europe for 4 months, and my most recent trip was to Kenya for 3 weeks this spring. I bartend seasonally at a ski hill in Canada, and am planning my next trip down to Central America.
I'm super laid back and enjoy the little things in life. Laughter is probably the most important thing to me and I find humor in almost any situation.
My trip is extremely flexible and I have no real itinerary or plans, I'm very much a live-in-the-moment kind of person.
PHILOSOPHY
Find your happiness. Don't internalize negativity. Always seek the lesson in every event in your life (both negative and positive), this is how you continue to flourish.
I want to expand my mind, knowledge and heart.
I don't believe in taking life too seriously;
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think the problem with the world is that too many people are living outside of their means and simply putting too much emphasis on THINGS rather than on experiences. I like couchsurfing because it's a community of people sharing what they have and helping each other get along.
Generosity makes the world go 'round
Interests
Backpacking of course, hitchhiking, skiing, scuba diving, camping, hiking...music (I can play the spoons! A real east coast Canadian treat ;) haha)
I love to sew and paint. I love music festivals, being outdoors, curling up and reading a book, or just having a beer with my cat.
I'm THAT person who doesn't own a cell phone, even in this day and age. I'll take real books over kobo readers any day. Id rather sleep outside on the ground than in a fancy hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books
As far as music, I love folk and blues, punk, metal..anything but that 'top of the charts new age craaaap' haha.
Books: 1984, Brave New World, The Fountain Head, Catch-22, Galapagos, The Beauty Myth.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most of my favorite memories are from when things got weird or a little crazy. I don't plan my trips with too much structure and sometimes it gets me into strange situations!
I once shared a bunk-bed with a Monk on a ferry in Thailand and he taught me how to roll bidi cigarettes.
I've seen the peaks of the Himalayas while in an awkward living arrangement with an Indian prince.
I was once mistaken for homeless by police officers in New York while sleeping on the floor in a train station in Times Square.
I lived in the Mexican jungle in a tent for a few weeks.
I moved to Australia on a whim with only $20 left to my name and worked as a live in nanny because it was closer than going back to Canada.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to hear about anyone's views and beliefs, even if they are contrary to my own. We don't all need to agree in order to get along (and it is nice to have passionate discussions)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm super happy to lend a hand around the house! I'm very flexible with sleeping arrangements and am very easy going.
I lack in extraordinary talents, but I can offer laughs and conversation!
Thank you, and I look forward to meeting you.
Much love xx
