About Me

CURRENT MISSION

You know what's up.

ABOUT ME

I'm young, receptive, in-flux and ever-changing. I'll be travelling around the country a bit this fall with my good friend Mike and we will be looking to meet some friendly and hospitable faces along the way. I have spent the past few years living in an intentional community and I'm ready to experience some new sights and situations in hopes of bringing something home to share. (I've no doubt that you can learn from just about anyone and anything.)

PHILOSOPHY

"what holds us back from how to burn the bridges to a culture that taught us to hate and fear and live like cogs in a machine, and not like lovers, friends and kin?" - Defiance Ohio

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is a great networking tool... I'd love to meet you wonderful folks when I'm out and about. I've got no place of my own to host crashers, unfortunately, but we host potlucks fairly often and we're down for showing passers-through the highlights around town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My last couchsurfing experience was in Chicago this past Summer, on the way to P.A.P.A. (People Against Poverty and Apathy) Festival. The kid met us up at a park, tossed us his house keys, and said "the house is empty. Anything you find, go for it-- showers, food, the computer... see you tonight"-- and went back to work! We found out later that we were over the 100th person their household hosted. I have nothing but good things to say about my time there.

Interests

poetry, community, potlucks, rideshares, anarchism, Really Really Free Market, gardening, bikes, drum circles, sustainability, camping, coffee houses, meeting people, doing things without money, living creatively, trying something new.

Music, Movies, and Books

folk, indie, punk... obscurity... my friends...

I read quite a bit, it would take too long to list the books I've read and loved. I'm dabbling in mystic literature at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've stood on top of some of the tallest buildings in Detroit to watch the sun set, and explored some of the cities most beautiful ruins. I've canoed, kayaked, and travelled around a little bit... mostly its the little things-- the "you had to have been theres" that stick out in my mind though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have my own stories to share, but I'd much rather hear yours.
