ABOUT ME

I am a 25-year-old native Clevelander with her eye on one day becoming a midwife and living in a permaculture community. I like good food, new places, engaged people, and the beauty in simple, everyday experiences.

Based on previous experience, I feel the need to mention that potential hosts should understand that I am not looking for any arrangement in which we share a bed.

PHILOSOPHY

You get what you give. Also, I have found that life gets really interesting when you actively change your perspective (ie, dig deeper, look closer, reevaluate from a new angle, etc.). Essentially, this life is temporary and ever-changing, and I like people and experiences that remind me of that.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just finished traveling from Iceland to Cambodia for 9 months, and I've found that the most interesting and enriching experiences take place when engaging with locals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I Couchsurfed for a month straight when I was in Bordeaux, Paris, and Prague, and made some of the greatest memories of that trip with my hosts.

I love documentaries that make me mad and classic or art cinema that makes my heart feel like a big lead weight from too much emotion. Some of my favorites are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Loves of a Blonde, Synechdoche, New York, Panic au village, and Chungking Express. Charlie Chaplin rules.

Far as music goes, gimme bluegrass, rock, alternative, folk, world, classical, jazz, blues, whatever. So long as it's inspired.

Big fan of Steinbeck, Henry Miller, Kurt Vonnegut, and any book about farming, education, living off the grid, or traveling.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

My 30-day cross-country road trip in 2010 opened my eyes to the wonders of travel. Don't think I'll ever be the same.

Since then, I've hiked a volcano and witnessed the melting of glacial ice in Iceland, gotten drunk at a wine castle in Bordeaux, ridden bikes along the Seine and down the Champs-Élysées in Paris, foraged for mushrooms in Prague, skinny-dipped in Austria, and watched a meteor shower and learned how to make mud bricks in rural Turkey. There's so much that I'm forgetting, as my mind can't keep up with how big my world is these days.

I am a capable gardener, photographer, cook, writer, Thai masseur, Ashtangi (still working on the confidence to handstand), tarot card reader, and I make a mean cup of coffee. I'm interested in learning any skill or craft. I've always wanted to learn how to blow glass. I'll gladly take a professional portrait of you in exchange for a night's rest on your couch :)
