Hi! I'm Chems, a young French student. But this year, I took a break in my studies to start a completely different project : traveling as much as I can in one year, without taking any plane !

I left Paris in September 2019, and since I crossed lands and countries until Bali, there the pandemia started to grow ... I had to took a plane to enter New Zealand, and I'm living in Golden Bay since almost 3 months. It's now time to travel again :D

My plan now is to do a hitchhiking trip around both South and North islands, only by hitchhiking and community hosting before going back in Europe in July. I'm social and easy to live with, don't hesitate to ask questions, and hopefully see you soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my trip, I want to meet locals and learn from new cultures. I will try to contact as many Couchsurfers as I can, to discover the cities from the inside. Plus, I have to travel for cheap as I am still a student, and I don't mind to sleep on a couch :)

Interests

I like to listen and discover every kind of music, and I'm always happy to find a new cool artist. I'm also a musician : I got a formation of clarinetist, and I'm playing now tenor saxophone in the brassband of my school.

For the books, I'm a huge reader of science-fiction and fantasy books, but I'm reading other styles aswell from times to times. I really like watching films too, it's always interesting to compare films from different countries.

I like to be outside for whole days, for a big hike or trek, or a walk across an unknown city to discover it. And I'm always happy to share a beer or a dinner with somebody :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge in science (mathematics, physics, chemistry) and help with classes or homework. I can also help with music learning (and even help with practice for single reed instruments as saxophone)
