Overview
About Me
After taking a hiatus from my human services career in spring of last year, I traveled the country spending time on organic farms, orchards, and ranches learning practical and empowering methods of living and growing. During my journey, I developed a much deeper appreciation for nature and the opportunity that we have to make a lasting difference in this world – the chance to be the change.
I met my partner, Michael, during my travels, and I enjoyed his company so much I brought him home after traveling around in his mobile tiny home for longer than most humans could share 125 square feet! We decided to relocate to Elizabethton to settle in the small town that has big things happening through locally-supported efforts. In fact, my cross-country trek started shortly after I founded the Downtown Elizabethton Farmers Market last year. I'm stoked to be back in the area and assist in year two of the market to provide local, fresh food to the place that I am happy to call home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I explored the US with my best mate on a minimalist budget summer '17, then hitched a ride with a new travel mate, Michael, in his 2007 Transit Bus conversion... Michael and I work traded our way from coast to coast before setting up shop in the dreamy mountains of East Tennessee just in time for farming season!
I've had the pleasure of being hosted by some pretty unique and empowering souls over the past year, so Michael and I are looking forward to opening our door to passers-thru looking to experience a little mountain bliss and tasty beer.

Music, Movies, and Books
We are lovers all musical genres and welcome recommendations!
I fall asleep during most movies, but I'm sucker for live performance. Michael is the movie buff of this duo.
We have a list a mile long of recommended books, on top the nightstand of books waiting to already be read. But, please, help us grow the list more! Knowledge is em[POWER]ing...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We independently quit our jobs, social worker and chemical engineer, to set out on self-enlightenment odysseys that allowed our paths to cross at a llama rescue ranch in Texas. Months later, we reunited to unexpectedly travel together. Midwest meets Southern. What a beautiful collision its been! We spent the summer picking peaches on an organic orchard at the base of Mount Hood in the Columbia River Gorge before deciding to start a life together in East Tennessee - a life filled with fresh veggies, happy souls, good vibes, and upcycled EVERYTHING.
Teach, Learn, Share
Seeking the opportunity experience everything we haven't.
Homesteading and sustainable practices are our main digs; we actually try to be conscious humans. Situated less than 1/2 hour from many spots on the AT, we love hiking and foraging (and mushroom hunting, of course!). We're in the process of renovating an old '87 Sunburst camper that we have big plans for, so we can always use a couple hands, tips and moral support!!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation, open minds and lovers of life and learning ✌️🌲🛣 (and humble surfing etiquette).
We are super foodies and drink good beer - mostly interested in where the locals want to be.
