Overview
About Me
My name is Cherie, like the french word for ‘my darling’ or ‘sweetie’.
I’m a Canadian living in the UK. I have long black hair and big cheeks. I like to dress like I’m from the 90’s or all monochrome. I left home a few years ago to go teach in South Korea as a native English speaking teacher. Since then, I’ve been moving around and sailing through the tides and tsunamis of life and really it has been a great adventure. I remember thinking to myself that I’d never go back home because everything was just too happy— too comfortable — too easy— and life is simply more than that.
On a typical day, I like to wake up early and look out a window. Mornings are my favourite because it’s always peaceful and quiet. I enjoy going to art galleries, climbing things, making up games when I’m bored, having intellectual debates and keeping my things well organized.
While living in the UK, I’ve been working part-time as an English language school teacher and part-time at the organic health food shop of my dreams. My favourite part about being a teacher is connecting with my students and really making a difference in their lives. So, once the door is shut, I pull out a map and things start to get interesting.
I’m a true believer of learning something new every day. So, I like to chat with people just about anything but if you get me started on world issues, I can probably chat with you all night. I have zero judgement on people, so if you like to laugh and you have a good heart, then that’s all that matters to me.
