About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find my future direction
EDIT in 2019: I have written the above "mission" in 2013 and realised that I still haven't found my "direction" (and laughing at it). I guess I have learned to follow any given direction instead of trying hard to find one.
ABOUT ME
*A free spirit*
I wish to go around the world to see all the beauties and amazement. I am easy-going, like to talk and discuss ideas with people. I am sometimes quiet because I tend to observe a lot. I am an art history student and love to write a lot. Being curious all the time.
EDIT in 2019: I guess I am still pretty much the same compared to 2013, except I am not an art history student anymore lolz. Currently living in Sydney, Australia (came here in May 2018) and hoping to see Australia and this side of the world a bit more. I have tried out different jobs in Sydney, I tried to settle down and look for a long term job but plans didn't turn out that way. So why not go travel while I am here? I wasn't very outdoorsy until I learned surfing in the Philippines and I learned to appreciate nature and long to be close to it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was on and off Couchsurfing since 2013. I first had the idea of CS when I was in Europe. I had my first CS experience in Norway, then hosted a few while I was in Amsterdam. Then Airbnb came about and became popular. I experimented with different types of travelling/accommodation as there are more and more options around.
Now I am in Australia, living in highly urbanised Sydney, I don't feel the "human touch". Airbnb and hostels are slightly different from Couchsurfing. It really depends on luck whether you meet the right hostel mates or Airbnb host. I treasure genuine communication and quality time with people I meet on the journey. I think CS is a great platform to share this genuineness and meet likeminded people.
Interests
I am interested in the environment, ocean, surfing, reading and understanding human behaviours. I like observing and asking questions (sometimes not very good at it). I've learned to respect individual differences and still hoping to undo/deconstruct a lot of built-in assumptions I had by travelling!
