Hi, I'm Cheryl!

Just your everyday laid-back nomad looking to meet people and contribute to the many adventures they have in life. I call myself a nomad because I was born in NYC, lived in Rhode Island, lived in Atlanta, lived in Indiana, lived in Chicago, lived in Oakland, and I live in Los Angeles LOL. Most people are shook when I say that, but I'm grateful to have lived in all those places because traveling comes so natural to me now. I truly enjoy being a new fish in a big pond and experiencing/accepting things as they are. If I'm not pushing myself to explore new things I feel like I'm not learning.

To make friends all over the world! I LOVE surrounding myself with eccentric, open, creative, and opinionated people. I've met so many amazing people in my life so why not add some more!

I first heard about Couchsurf through my best friend and old roommate, Abi Pierson. We had a joint account for a couple years and it was INCREDIBLE. We hosted guests in Chicago from all over – Germany, Turkey, Denmark, New Zealand, Tunisa, etc. We dyed a guest's hair, shared home cooked meals, took someone to a tattoo parlor (I was the one getting the tattoo), had dance parties, and so much more. Connecting with people from all over the world really reminded me that we're not all that different from each other and it pushed me into traveling abroad. To this day, I'm still in touch with the hosts and guests I've stayed with.

I've met some of the kindest, most talented, interesting people through this site, and I'd love to keep crossing paths with all of you.

My best friend and I bought super cheap tickets to Europe for 2 months and couchsurfed the entire time.

I am in LOVE with film photography. I got into it because I was lost my digital camera while backpacking, was too poor to replace it so I bought a film one for $150. I shot my first roll, got the photos back, and never looked back. You will 500% see me with at least one camera in my hand.

If I stay with you (and you're willing) I'd love to do some kind of shoot with you. We can shoot you alone or with friends in your home, isolated in nature, or your favorite spot in the city – whatever makes you most comfortable. Would also be down to teach you how to shoot manual so you can take some photos of me.

I love vernacular so I'll also be down to teach you some American slang if you want to teach me yours LOL.
