About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want an interesting and creative life

ABOUT ME

I have lived a bizaar life. I travelled a great deal in my youth. I finally settled on the far north coast of New south wales. These days I'm kept very busy with my work as a support worker, renovating my old house and my art. Grafton has a gutsy whatsiname about it, which suits me fine. I spent a long time in Mullumbimby (circa Byron Bay) and got fed up with the trendies but I miss ythe cosmopolitan feel and I really miss Europe (although it's been over twenty years since I lived there) I can't see myself travelling much in the future but I would love to see other countries come visit me.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have always maintained that the right to free speech and pass borders is subordinate to the more basic rights to clean air, water and a place to rest your head at night.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent 15 years living in a rucksack.

Interests

I like to camp. I don't do much of it these days. I draw. I was once the 'poster man' of Mullumbimby. I'm an acomplished artist and a very good printmaker. I'm really good at doing anything with my hands, something of an inventor and I read quite a bit. These days my work as a support worker consumes a lot of my creative energy. I'm a lefty so if you're of the other side expect some rigorous debate!

Music, Movies, and Books

Murial's wedding, motorcycle Diary Most movies depend on who yousee it with....I liked the one called 'water' very mixed taste with music bit of classical, bit of seventies, I like african, jazz and BLUES. I'm a great fan of Graham Green, Dostoyevsky, Margret attwood, Lizz Jenson (that'll have you stumped) an' lots of others; I'm really bad with names

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchiked from Karachi to London on $1 in 1970
