About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the cities I visit as I can, while still having to fulfill mission #1 of attending conferences.

ABOUT ME

I grew up as an introverted child, but learned recently (circa last 2 years) that not only am I able to express myself more through verbosity, but I'm able to help others out through empathizing and talking. We all go through the same experiences, suffering, joy in life: but in so many different ways. We're all a wealth of information, and letting that inhibit meeting new people is saying that you'd rather not get your favorite food at the store since there are so many different brands and flavors. That's ridiculous!!
So in summation I'm trying to meet new people and open up more than I ever have before in an attempt to quell the fear of the unknown....? And traveling is fun!
-----
I'm also a formally trained photographer for fine art, some fashion, portraits, but mostly music venues. Research is a great love, but we all need that "other" outlet.

PHILOSOPHY

The worst thought in the world is that there are people already doing what you want to do, are better than you at what you do, or who will keep you from what you want to do.
The reality of this is that the only person this could ever apply to is you in 5 minutes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently very new at this, and hoping to trust people more by default. I have a great network of friends in Little Rock that host touring bands and have seen the exchanges of hospitality that take place. I'm inspired to at least invite people to my town for tours, coffee/tea'ing, and the what-not. I currently reside with roomate(s) and don't feel I can host people for the night. However, this could change on my next move and by then I hope to be familiar with more travelers. I also hope to act as a conduit for those in my town who are able to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only ever surfed within the state of Arkansas and with those I've either known previously or through a friend-of-a-friend. My dad used to backpack through Europe for months on end sleeping at train stations, bus depots, and with the hospitable. I'm still a bit too shy for that, but one day I don't see why not.

Interests

Photography!!!
Computer programming (Java is my primary language)

Although not a book, I thoroughly enjoy puns and malapropisms of any sort.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was the first student to receive a Masters Degree in Information Quality...in the world!! The only way was to finish the program in one year, and I think I broke something in my brain, cause now I can't think goodly. :P
Although whenever one is about to get a big head, they must learn to "Leggo their Ego."

Teach, Learn, Share

Information Quality is the study of fitness of use of data for an intended purpose. That's just an atom of the iceberg though. It was developed in response to our society becoming increasingly based on information. There's so much information, yet so little knowledge we can harvest in ratio. Bad intelligence has cause many bad decisions to be made. I feel this study is important, as miscommunication and misunderstanding of knowledge not only affect business, but personal lives as well.
