About Me

At this very moment of my life I'm a student, this means I spend my time not only learning from books but also constantly looking for a new source of experience and inspiration. An open and respectful mind is for me the fundamental condition to be in the world and to relate with every human being.
I want to get to know new cities and countries and, of course, connect with different people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel the need of going outside my homeland, I want to improve myself: I guess this could be a good start.
I used to travel alone and be hosted by friends, now I'd like to experience a different way of going around and discover places and lives far from mine. Basically I crave to learn anything I don't know yet.

Interests

Visual arts, music and literature are definitely what I enjoy most in life.

I've been into music since forever and I've attended countless concerts. It's really hard to tell which are my favourite artists since I love many genres: from jazz to hc, from italian songwriters to psychedelic.
I guess the ones who influenced me the most are The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Simon&Garfunkel, Fabrizio De André, Lucio Battisti, Luigi Tenco, Lucio Dalla, Diaframma, La Quiete, Raein, Verme, Fine Before You Came, Crash of Rhinos, Tame Impala, The Tallest Man on Earth, Beirut, Mumford&Sons, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Black Keys, Bon Iver.

In metter of writers and poets, I deeply love Calvino, Celati, Pasolini, Montale, Ungaretti, Caproni, Rosselli, Cavalli, Gatto, Plath, Joyce, Kafka, Camus, Dostoevskij, Rilke, Svevo, Primo Levi, Rodari, Mari, Hemingway, Flaiano, Tondelli, Buzzati, Sanguineti.

The movies I love watching again and again are Persepolis, Strawberry Statement, Zabriskie point, Aprile, The Darjeeling limited, Milk and some of the directors I admire are Nanni Moretti, Fellini, Antonioni, Rossellini, Chaplin, Wes Anderson, Gus Van Sant, Dolan, Miyazaki.
I do not have a knowledge of cinema as wide as I'd like to, so I'm always glad to receive suggestions! I'm also fond of tv series such as True Detective, Game of Thrones, Utopia.

I guess comics are my greatest passion: I could talk for hours about the 70's italian contro-culture-related artists Pazienza, Tamburini, Scozzari, Liberatore, Mattioli who are the ones that built my taste together with Pratt, Crepax, Moebius, Bunker, Crumb, Shelton, Satrapi, Delisle, Sacco, Gipi, Fior, Zerocalcare, Clowes, Burns and almost every Bonelli character.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In genuary 2012, when I was seventeen, I travelled to Poland with other 200 students from all over Italy to visit Krakow and the extermination centers of Auschwitz and Birkenau. The project was called "Train of Memory", it was organised by a group of people in the early twenties who led the youngers through the comprehension of our recent history in order to increase civil responsibility.
It has been the most life changing experience I've ever done, this trip gave me the strenght to live a conscious life and the firm belief that step by step, head after head, the world can truly change for the better.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a consistent vegetarian because of ethical reasons, I am very good at cooking so I can do it for you if you want (otherwise everything which is not meat or fish is more than ok for me).

If we have some interests in common I swear we could have a deep conversation and a meaningful exchange!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest I'm not bothering, I respect personal spaces, I'm neat and very indipendent. When I'm somewhere new I like spending some time walking the city all by myself. I'd like to give my contribute in the daily routine such as cleaning or cooking and I always enjoy pleasant conversations and mutual share of knowledge.

I still live with my family in a tiny flat, so it's almost impossible for me to host somebody, but whenever possible I'd like to help the best way I can (for example I have many friends in Bologna and others around Italy).
