About Me

I am many in one.
I reconcile calm and tranquillity with the desire to engage in multiple activities and learn new things. You might find me talkative, outgoing, and easy, but the truth is I talk a lot to hide initial shyness. I like being with people as much as I sometimes need me-times.
Always been intellectual rather than sporty, but am now discovering the rewards of hiking. Sea places is where I go when I need to clear my mind.
Curiosity is probably my best drive. I like to blend in cultures when I travel so as to experience places at their most authentic. I am very flexible even though I also have a bit of an OCD for a number of things, like...eating every crumble left on the table. Or simply eating.
Languages and accents fascinate me a lot. I can spend hours asking linguistics-related questions: beware :) I am interested in endangered languages, linguistic diversity, and language documentation. I like exploring local languages and cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Basically, I'm on Couchsurfing to discover a new concept of travelling that will possibly enable be to meet new people and get in touch with the locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is too vast to be contained here. Used to be a musician -- I love a good deal of everything. Classical music is the beginning and end of this everything. From Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa to Led Zeppelin.
Live traditional music, at the crossing with local cultures, is what fascinates me the most.
I love cinema but I hate watching movies on tv. I could rewatch Inception for another three times and still don't have a clue about it. I am so peaky with books, some of my favorites though: The End is My Beginning, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Nonexistent Knight, and lots lots lots of poetry. Currently tangled up in non-fiction.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, I can help with housekeeping, I can teach you my language, I can offer meditation sessions, or take care of your kids (I love discovering with them the wonders of nature). I can help with animals (I worked with horses before), even though I am terrible with plants and gardening. I can re-invent myself and would be happy to help my host in whatever they might need. Maybe it'll be the chance to grow and learn something new.
Most of all, however, what I can do better is just talking, and talking, discussing, and asking, being curious, and maybe in return I will give some recommendations for books, reading, I will leave behind some poems, hints for places, or maybe just words.
I like to think that once I make a friend, this friend will always have a home in Italy. Then this I can offer: a place on the other side of the world, for when you'll want to come.
