About Me
Hello! I'm a first-year PhD student in Glasgow. I love reading, playing music, meeting new people and learning about different cultures. At the end of May I'm travelling to NYC for a conference about Walt Whitman, the US poet I'm studying for my PhD, and hope to meet fellow travellers for some adventure. I won’t be around Glasgow for a few weeks, so won’t be hosting for a while.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people from around the world, share experiences, and make new friends. I've been using Couchsurfing for a few years but had to open a new account.
While I'm self-employed and a (relatively) independent student I want to make the most of this by bumbling around to new places and meeting lots of new faces!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music-wise at the moment I'm really into Connan Mockasin and Kurt Vile, my favourite book is 'Midnight's Children' by Salman Rushdie, and most recently I watched 'The Road to Perdition'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snorkelling in Barbados, a magical experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
Previously I've been an English as a foreign language teacher for adults, but in general love learning little bits of new languages, swapping words and phrases with people. I've been learning French for a while so I relish any opportunity to practise!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to talk, explore, and share food and drink. I'm always happy to offer recommendations or take you to some of my favourite places.
