About Me
Hi :3
My name is Chiara, I'm a 30yo Doctor from Milan, Italy. After graduating I moved to London and lived there for two incredible years. I decided to come back to Italy for a bit in order to work part time and focus on travelling for a while before starting my residency.
Travelling is one of my biggest passion, I enjoy connecting with different places and cultures. I'm a slighlty shy person but I love meeting new interesting people! ^-^ I enjoy using Couchsurfing a lot, I met so many amazing people both in Milan/London and abroad.
When I was little I often got the chance to travel abroad in the summer with my parents. Even though travelling with family can get quite stressful I am very grateful for those opportunities I had to start experiencing the world outside of my own country. When I got older I started doing more solo travels. I enjoy solo travelling as it gives me the opportunity to reconnect with myself and to create my own plans. Plus you are never really alone while travelling! I am grateful for all the amazing people I met during my travels, not just through CS.
In 2025 I moved back to Italy after working in Londn for two years. Since then I've been working part time. My most incredible travel moments for 2025 have been walking the two UNESCO World Heritage spiritual routes of Kumano Kodo and Santiago de Compostela. I enjoyed the incredible natural landscapes, quiet encounters with the locals and profound cultural and spiritual significance of the Kumano Kodo. I was moved by the incredibly humbling experience of walking 800km of the Camino the Santiago in Spain with just a backpack and a few belongings, an experience that truly made me feel reconnected to all the positive and beautiful things the human experience has to offer if we are open to accepting it. I met people from literally every walk of life, from the 18yo still figuring out what to do with their life to the 81yo walking in memory of his late wife. It is an experience I will never forget and that I would highly recommend to anyone.
2026 will be the year I will start my residency so after months of studying to prepare my entrance tests I'll be heading to SEA for a few months backpacking. My aim is too catch up with old friends, learn about local cultures and traditions, try all the amazing local foods and in general to take things slowly. There is something magical about travelling to places so different from your homeland, even something mudane as a trip to the supermarket can be an excting adventure I find.
I am also a massive foodie and I am very curious and respectful of local cuisines. Other things I'm into are hiking (although a struggle a bit with big altituide differences lol), walking in general, nature and any landscape with water (sea, ocean, lakes..), cats, tea and live music.
Hope to meet you soon! ^-^
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think the most important part of travelling is experiencing new cultures and growing from new experiences. In the summer of 2015 I spent one month in a super small city in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan, It was one one greatest experiences of my life, I had the chance of spending one month with a Japanese family, experiencing daily life with them, eating their same food, enjoying the small things and exploring the area by bike. Everything was amazing but sometimes you don't feel like staying in one place for a full month. I also love exploring as many new places as I can. I fell in love with Japan and their culture so I decided to go back on the spring break of 2019. I explored more of Hyogo prefecture by myself but still I really wanted to relive the experience of staying with locals, even for a few days. I've been to hotels, guesthouses and visited old friends, but I also stayed with three different amazing families I met on Couchsurfing and I'm so so happy and grateful for this opportunity I had. Everyone was so nice and welcoming to me, I enjoyed many different types of homemade foods, experienced different housing styles and explored many beautiful places with my hosts. I will never forget this experience and will forever be grateful to them. I will surely treasure this amazing website for my future travels!
While I lived in London I found many interesting events through Couchsurfing and this helped me meeting new friends in a foreign city. In my home town of Milan I enjoy showing people around and give travellers suggestions on the best food spots! I met some really dear friends through this app.
** Please note I am not using this website as a dating app, please do not contact me if that's all your looking for!! I unfortunately had some really unpleasant interactions in here and I feel beeing respectful of other people's boundaries should be a requirement not only in a society but also online!! **

What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking but it's often hard to find Italian ingredients abroad (especially parmesan!). Seafood spaghetti tends to be the easiest dish to make, I made it for a few Japanese friends and it's been a success so far lol
