About Me

Hello everybody,
I'm Chiara, 22 years old and I live in Milan, the city where I basically grew up. I graduated in Biology and I am currently applying for a Master's degree in ... something related? somewher in the world? I don't know yet.
Travelling for me it's not about visiting famous landmarks, but it's about getting in touch with different realities and new lifestyles. I'm not properly a "scientist" type (even though I study biology): I actually enjoy a lot discussing with people about pseudo-philosophical/spiritual/political themes. I've been practicing yoga for five years now and I really enjoy the way it made me more aware of my body and willing to do some movement (I've never really been into sports). I enjoy arts: music, painting, drawing... I'm not a real expert on anything though.
I've been living in Berlin too, as an erasmus student for one year. I fell in love with the city and got really into techno music. Besides, it was a great experience and I made lot of friends from all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Before getting into the "couchsurfer mindset" I had been always disappointed with my previously travelling experiences. When checking a list of things to see, I couldn't really get in touch with the essence of each place I was visiting; this swallow apporach was giving me the impression that all countries on earth were the same. But they aren't! Since I started to travel with the solely intent of experiencing and enjoying time, people, food from all over the world, I realized how enriching travelling can be. It makes important exchange happen. I give someone an inisght about existence from my unique point of view, and they give me back their. It helps everybody to learn how human existence can change from place to place. It helps building a wider view of the world. It helps abolishing boundaries and prejudices. It helps questioning habits and things taken for granted.
Since I'm not living in a condition that allowes me to host people, right now I'm just looking for someone to host me during my journeys. I can't wait to be able to host someone as well and open the doors of my apartment to this beautiful community.
