ABOUT ME
I like the idea of not being easily classified... and don't easily classify people myself, especially when they belong to a different culture. Anyway I can say I am a smiling person, an introvert who would like to be an extrovert. I'm a little bit forgetful, but finally think that the forgetful are blessed for they get the better even of their blunders.
Sometimes just like to enjoy a silent beautiful world, so sometimes not very talkative. Other times fascinated by the beauty of many things, therefore sometimes too enthusiastic, too talkative and talk too loud. So used to my character that I sometimes get lost in it... but just sometimes!
A little bit of utopia, an italian tendence to drama... but just sometimes! Other times just superficial and willing to laugh at anything.
Grown up in the country, I feel better in nature than in the tight spaces of the city. Paris is an exception, its urban conception is so beautiful that I like having long walks even in the city... have so much gratitude and admiration for Haussman :-)
PHILOSOPHY
"Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot..." C.Chaplin
"I'm a pessimist because of intelligence, but an optimist because of will." A. Gramsci

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I predominantly host at the moment.
I like to host people and have the opportunity to be transported to faraway places just chatting when I come back home after a day of my beloved but not poetic work.
Will be happy to share with you all I know about my country and can give you some advice if you're planning to visit Rome (or, less likely, Cassino and the Second World War paths: was born in a village near Cassino and grown up listening to war stories of my grandparents and grandparents' friends).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Homemaking ravioli pasta with David in Paris: the last time I had made it I was 5 years old and was with my grandmother. Proustian experience, memories of my childhood that I had forgotten resurfaced thanks to the pasta prepared in Paris: I've had my "proustian madeleine" too...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
My italian beloved music: De André and Battiato
Love the System of a Down, but I also like Metallica and Queen.
Love classical music (particularly fond of opera). I am a classical piano player and love my "3 B": Bach, Beethoven, Brahms :-) Also in love with Schumann and Schubert. Have a controversial relationship with the contemporary classical music: love and hate...
Readings:
Favourite books: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, and Animal Factory by George Orwell. Like classical ancient greek tragedy and some italian classic writers (Pirandello, Svevo, Calvino) and poets: classical ones like Montale and Leopardi and less classical ones like Trilussa:-).
Cinema:
totally addicted to... Like Stanley Kubrick and Quentin Tarantino, but almost love italian cinema (the true one, the old one, when Italy had the most beautiful cinema of the world): Ettore Scola, Fellini, Mario Monicelli, De sica, Pasolini and like to talk about that :-)
One of my favourite recent movies is In Bruges: a small masterpiece full of poetry, by Martin McDonagh. A recent comedy I enjoyed is Little Miss Sunshine. Also really appreciated Closer by Mike Nichols and Hedwige and the angry inch by John Cameron Mitchell.
Like to think about the different fate of the goldfish in scene of Kill Bill 2 and the goldfish in the french movie "le hérisson"... it summarizes the difference I I found between America and France :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Loved my country by leaving it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am able to teach basic and advanced life support, italian language and cooking. I can also give piano lessons and I'm always interested in meeting people fond of music.
Would particularly appreciate sharing the culture of local ethnic music (local instruments) and discovering some good local independent movies excluded from the great market.
I'd like to learn something about photography and theater, so far neglected by my love for painting and opera, and I would love to do some "historical tourism" with other couchsurfers, especially on the trail of sites of the second World War.
Need also to come back practising some sport: will come back from Italy with my racket and get back to play tennis. Also would like to begin learning ice skating or rollerblade skating. Loooooove dancing: I'm learning forro and rock'n roll :-)
